  • On today's episode, Dan Wetzel, Ross Dellenger and SI's Pat Forde react to UNC sharing their grievances at ACC meetings this week. They cover how North Carolina would be the highest sought after ACC program if it were to leave the conference.
Then, they take time to make fun of what is left of the Pac-12 and it's recent announcement of broadcasting games on the CW.
After the break, Dellenger shares an update on where the current NCAA settlement stands. Dellenger unpacks new details of aiming to eliminate collectives and a proposed employment model.
They shift their focus to media personality Doug Gottleib being announced as Green Bay's next men's basketball coach, and determine if it's possible for Gottleib to continue to host his radio show while coaching.
Wetzel wraps the show with news of Red Lobster announcing financial troubles due to an over consumption of shrimp by its customers.

No chance that FSU and Clemson are suing to get out without assurances of an invite to the big or sec

Buckeye here. I beg to differ. For all practical purposes, FSU (#19) to the B1G is a done deal. FSU has been on the B1G's target list for two years. FOX is completely cool with this. The wildcard is the Plus 1. I was hearing Miami. For the first time, I'm now hearing Clemson and the B1G being mentioned in the same sentence. UNC has never been on the B1G's target list, nowhere near enough football eyeballs.
The B1G TV deal is set up for twenty schools. I think after the next two schools are added, there will be a recess. The current thinking on Notre Dame is that if the ACC implodes, the SEC and B1G will work out a scheduling arrangement, three games per conference.
Long term, the state of Texas is on Petitti's radar. However, I can't imagine that the B1G will go beyond twenty-four schools.
As reported by Pete Thamel, UNC and UVA are at the top of the SEC's list. Obviously, this will require sorting out the UNC/NC State imbroglio.

Question, does FSU and the #20 school get full shares right away or do they get half shares till the next media deal, like Wa/Or? If it's full shares wouldn't it be safe to assume both of those schools would vote no on expansion? Would USC and UCLA join them? To me this is what everyone over looks when talking about B1G expansion. I doubt FSU and whomever else would be willing to accept half shares for six years and I believe the west coast schools would oppose anyone outside of Notre Dame coming in at full shares. Not sure how that could be resolved, without upsetting someone.

The roster reduction is actually approved? You want to hurt the walk on player?
Yet another reason for the big boys to split from the ncaa that is a dumb move

How is North Carolina the most valuable when there viewership is below Louisville smh FSU an Clemson are the prize smh doesn’t matter it they get the North Carolina foot print if no one is watching

UNC's value comes from the potential of what they can become with B1G or SEC revenue. They are in a fertile recruiting area, the state is growing in population, and the P2 currently don't have a footprint in the state.

UNC absolutely should get out. Still have a BOG problem. Interesting problem to solve. Can’t wait to see how they do it but I hope they get their dancing shoes on soon

    • @roris5882

All UNC has to do is tell the BOG that they will be forced to cancel half their sports programs do to them holding their university back from joining a P2 Conference, to maximize their revenue, because they want to handicap them at NC State's level. I am sure the public will accept UNC earning G-5 type revenue after the ACC loses FSU, Clemson, and the other valuable schools.
