If Gills of fish is dark red in color than it is fresh. If it is light red or grey in color then it not fresh. Gills and flesh around it are bitter in taste, therefore, it has to be removed.If it is not removed or not clean properly then it spoils the taste of fish. If you expect you or your children should get benefited from fish nutrients then avoid eating deep-fried fish. Prefer to eating fish cooked in tandoor or oven.
