What's my story? An engineer, in love with his job, started teaching on the side. Got lucky. Impacted 1000s of lives. Had to finally leave his job to increase the impact surface area. Raised $5M funding to fix education. Is learning day and day about startups and building a valuable product.
How is it going? A decade of engineering helps in systems thinking and product building. Learning about Strategy, Marketing, People Management, and Finance on the go.
What am I building? Today, 25 million Indians prepare for government job entrance exams. They do it for years together. The probability of success is less than 1% but they still do it. Why? For the lack of a structured alternative to launch their white-collar career. I am building Invact to bridge this gap.
How? Follow me to know, it's a long story. I am telling it in parts every day.
OK. I have given interviews at 3 places related to web development last week only. I observed things observed below :-
1. You will see 2 to 3 positions for which more than 10000 people apply but only 500 to 1000 at max will appear for interview.
2. Many people who appear for interview also don't know much so out of these 500 - 1000 you can say upto 100 people really know something.
3. Companies now days are looking for candidates who can work from day 1. So be very good with skills which you mention on your resume.
4. Most of the evaluation for selection is around the skills which you have. So brush up on your skills.
5. Have good theoretical knowledge about how these technologies work behind the scenes. These things are asked in discussion round once you clear initial screening.

I’m 19yo and 70 percent of web developers that I see who apply for jobs don’t even know javascript execution context. The discussion is not around what you know or what you don’t. Coding is very practical based area where you learn by building stuff. In my case I build some Snake game and Client side weather and news apps in just one month of web dev. We shouldn't copy others completely, I build stuff from the things I learned before. So have some coding mindset before jumping in this field. I’m committed to build one big project every month as I proceed . Thank you Tanay sir and to the coding community for all their efforts.

Am new in laptop and IT world
Now am in 12th std and giving my boards exams....
Want to do IT sector job....
And have minimum knowledge about laptops and all....
I want to learn all basics of laptop and want to learn coding...
But am confused...i dont know from where should i start ...and i have no one who can guide....am scared of becoming that developers who actually dont know coding ..the obly they have is degree...

I actually disagree with this cuz right now companies are increasing their bottom line and hoarding financial resources to invest into AI automation now whatever hiring is happening are people who have broad range of skills and have end to end project working knowledge,technical skills and domain knowledge so in a AI near future u need to show that u can do one thing very well but u can do more than thing also decently that is have a specialization but also have diverse domain knowledge so u can show that u are versatile and adaptable easily that's what will keep u differentiated from AI and keep you relevant as well

One more advice I want to give there are many exams conducted by psus like barc drdo and isro through which students can get good amount of placement and they have also good chance to appear for gate exam

Hello Tanay Bhaiya. I have graduated in 2022 from a tier 3 college and in that particular year I got an entry level job in a MNC company. From there I got a telecom project where I am working for almost 2 years, in OSS domain where I work mostly manual and tools related work, I have also done some automation and development in python. After some time I got interest in Web Development and also started learning it, my concern is the project scenario is not that good, most of the time there is absolutely no work life balance, they want me to work almost 12 hours a day, also want me to available 24/7, if any issue comes. I have also have to work in the weekends, there is no free time and they are not paying anything extra gor that extra work. I want to learn more on web development and start building career on it but got no time. Because of the job market scenario I didn't get to risk my job. Its getting mental pressure day by day. What should I do in this situation?
