- 1996 Moto Guzzi Sport 1100 gets delivered! This is the Lamborghini Countach of motorcycles. Restoration of vintage Dellorto carburetors. Motorcycle expert, collector and restorer Willam Adler brings his skill. Ferrari Testarossa and Diablo make an appearance. Italian motorcycles like Ducati Paso 907 IE, Aprilia Mille R Colin Edwards and Bimota YB10. Staintune exhaust and lots of carbon fiber on this Moto GP classic. Please enjoy!
Simply beautiful! The sound of Mandello🥰
@@saschamatheis Yeah man!
I bought one of these new back in '95, from a dealer in OK, had it shipped to CA. Mine was red, full Staintune exhaust, K&N pods, chromoly muffer hangers, billet head guards, Brembo full-floaters, Dymag 17"" wheels, and Agostini straight-cut timing gears. Mine was frame #2, that's one I should've kept! I've owned seven Guzzis over the last 40 years, more than any other brand, and currently have a '23 V7 850 Special Edition and a '24 V100 Mandello Aviazione Navale, so I've come full circle!
@@bronzestarvue Awesome! Glad you are here buddy 👊
Thanks for sharing this fun video. I have always liked Moto Guzzi bikes since I saw my first Mk 1 lemans many years ago 😊
@@chrisbarnes9260 I’m so glad you like it! This is my first Guzzi and probably my last because I like it so much buddy.
Working with Chris is a pleasure. No fuss, just getting it done. The great attitude in which Chris maintained throughout the process is something others should strive for. Very glad to have got this one back one the road and a complete detail to follow. Cheers,😉 William.
@@williamadler3003 Great Attitude and Chris doesn’t usually go in the same sentence. Thank you so much. I’ve learned more about wrenching with you in a short time than I have in a very long time on my own. I’m always afraid to take stuff apart. I’m also extremely afraid of shops because I don’t always get my vehicle back.
Thanks Chris . My Ducati is running great, especially since it's 24 years old. I bought her a couple of years ago. The guy I bought her from had done some beautiful work to her. But the one thing he did that I didn't care for was he removed the original tach and speedo, replacing them with a cheap Motogadget digital dash. I'm an old roadracer, kind of a purest I guess you'd say. Traveling at the speeds I was used to, well gauges just give you a quick report with just a glance.
Long story short he cut the wires for the tachometer. I was able to reconnect the speedo, but don't know wiring and can't find anyone who is willing to reconnect the tach.
Good luck buddy. I hope you get it worked out.
Chris, beautiful bike. I wish I had a William near me. I have a vintage 2000 Ducati Monster M900ie that I could use his expertise. Enjoy the ride😊
@@Scottm46 Thank you buddy. I’m lucky to have William as a friend. I hope you get your Ducati running 👊
Goot-see !
@@mschmitz57 Yeah man!
Lovely bike. Is there a video on the Deici?
@@thomasfrank280 Coming soon! Thank you for asking buddy 👊
Bored at work, so I looked up Moto Guzzi Restorations, which got me here.
I've one of those fuel injected (a 1997) like you mentioned.
Funny thing is, I had a 1991 Ducati 907i.e. too. I hard carbon fiber Termignonis that got louder and louder as they got closer to needing a rebuild. I bought my bike used in 2007, and it had cf Mistrals on it, which I replaced with one of the last full Staintune exhaust systems that they built before the company sale.
Carbed Sports, and fuelie Sports both have their pluses and minuses.
I hope the purchase has worked out for you? :)
@@lowbaritonewwj Hey bud, thank you for being here! I love the Guzzi! I just put the Ducati up for sale. Great bike but I can’t keep them all. I’m currently at the Mecum Motorcycle auction here in Las Vegas trying very hard to not buy anything 🤪
@SinnerGarage I always thought Staintunes looked a little "stubby" on a 907? I have a former friend that put them on his Anthracite colored 907. Still, there is no taking away from the quality of them.
I noticed something else too... you upgraded the front brakes on the 907 to full floating Brembos. I wanted to do the same thing on my Sport, and did so a few years ago when I found the last set of full floating Brembo look alikes on a shelf at a shop in California. There is a Facebook group dedicated to Sport 1100s, I post there from time to time.
Buy anything in Vegas?
Lovely bikes
Thank you buddy 👊
Beautifull bike mate !!!
@@jorgemercatali9319 Thank you buddy 👊
Congrats on the purchase on the bike? I dig your style in being a all-around motorcyclist lover than sticking with just one. manufacture. Sorry Harley guys;)
@@lightinadarkendworld Thank you. I agree. Too many cool bikes out there to stick with one manufacturer. Glad you’re here bud 👊
Wow that is quite a garage you have there.
The Sport is a good solid easy to work on bike and should run reliably for mileages that will put your Ducati to shame, but Ducatis have other charms. It also looks in great condtion.
Mirrors on those bikes are usually poor, tending to loosen on the ball joints after a while, there are alternatives, personally I junked mine and purchased a good quality single bar end (works great for me)
The Dellortos are fine nothing wrong with them, but if I'd the money I'd have installed Keihin FCR 41s, although they're expensive compared to just fixing the Dellortos. Their are kits available specifically for the Sport carb
Fuel tap is crap and will (if not already) become stiff to turn, Guzzi cheaped out with the O Ring and it swells. Not a biggie as the only time you need to use it is when doing maintenance, and although stiff it can be turned with pliers or a small pipe wrench
Looks like previous owner installed a Motospezial Vee Sump with external filter, nice piece of kit
Might want to check an additional earth has been added to the Reg/Rec (up behind the fairing) to a good solid earth somewhere on the frame or engine, common mod to prevent premature failure
Check out "This Old Tractor" for manuals and Dellortos manuals can be found and lot of great info, many good Guzzi forums are out there too, personally I like the V11 forum too.
Enjoy it!!!! Appears to me like you love the bike 👍
@@MistaWeeGee So glad you’re here buddy! Thank you for all the info. I greatly appreciate it 👊
@@SinnerGarage No Probs, thanks for the video. Nice to see others with enthusiasm for Guzzis and I doubt you'd need any help from me with a garage like that 🤩
@@MistaWeeGee I’m not much of a mechanic and I refuse to use any shops. I’m kind of screwed 🤪
@@SinnerGarage You're too modest, if you need join one the many forums.
Spares still available and it's an easy machine to maintain
Bye bye 🎉 ✌️
Great to hear buddy! Ride safe.
I've always thought of Guzzi as the Alfa Romeo of motorcycles.
@tsaris8979 I totally get it. I think you’re right overall. Just not this model. Glad you’re here 👊
@@SinnerGarage She is a Beauty. I own the 1100 sports more cantankerous sibling. Alfa did make some amazing cars. Great Video!
Sounds amazing! Gorgeous bike! Would love to ride it like I stole it! 😁
@@THINKFAST73 Yeah man! Thank you buddy 👊
Hi, do you know where can I get a seat cover like yours?
@@celsodealmeida3685 There’s guys in this Faceb00k group Moto Guzzi 1100 Sport selling them right now. He only makes them once in awhile. Good luck buddy.
V-MAX'S & GUZZI'S, WHY the damn drive SHAFT!
Veery nice Cuzzi indeed. My freind had one for quite some time....But dude, its blasphemy to throw music over the bikes own symphony so the true pleasure is distorted:)
@@Mytuberify I agree. My audio was so bad that I was just trying to save it. More to come bud 👊
Lambo!! more like a Chevy Vega. any 600 will TOAST it!
@@williamadler3003 Sorry I am not missing the point. Yes a 599cc or 636cc will Toast the Guzzi not only in acceleration, but in handling, braking comfort and sh*t eating grins. I never said what the essence of a vintage bike is, don't put words into my mouth. I was just stating facts. We all have different feelings regarding vintage bikes, well at least I do.
Sounds to me, like your a Salesman, a poor one at that.
@@williamadler3003 You should take your own advice. Also stop projecting!
