I've always used Lucas my Sierra has 350k on it. And my suburban when I sold it to my friend had 450k on it. Both of them run like champs. I'm about to cam my Sierra
Just FYI, Wix makes some of the best filters to use on a performance engine. That's all I ever use anymore on my turbo 4th gen Camaro, along with Schaffers 20w50. That's just what my engine guy, Mike Lough, instructed me to do, and the best to run. Truck sounds and looks killer man! What kind of difference did you see when you added your oil cooler? My car, being a turbo car with a/c, the turbo alone really heats the oil, and I'm in Cape Coral, so as you know, it's always warm to hot out! It'd be cool to see you around here sometime, or out at Immokalee...
That’s what all my comments are saying! Wix is great, never knew it! I’m out in west palm, i dont know how much of a difference it made because I don’t have a gauge for it. Hoping it did something hahaha
I use the AC PF61 E filters on my daily. Oil, Sam's Club 10w30. 😄 Zero Fs given. My junkyard LQ4 has 60+ psi at idle, stock oil pump and unknown miles. I always tell people to use what works for them and what they feel comfortable with.
Man I want a single cab Silverados so bad so I was thinking one day if I come to West Palm Beach if I meet up with Raquel how much would it cost for me to get a ride in that the truck I mean
when I was looking 2 buy new silverado n 2003 I almost got dual cab but then with only me n it I got reg. cab short bed and she's been a great truck 223,000 miles and no major problems just normal maintenance. so Chevy stop building reg cab short beds years ago and market is going up on them 4 those looking 2 custom build them. I'd never sell mine she's been 20 yrs of a great truck with the 4.8L. Chevy doesn't make the 4.8L engine anymore either. guess cause it has few troubles and they can't sell more if engine last so long. great thing is she still gets same mpg, 18 as it did when new and oil pressure is the same as when new. after getting I did get hyper tact power programmer and set top speed to 'Z" rated tires so 100 mph governor won't kick in and set tranns so there was no slow shift between gears, it's like putting B&M shift kit in trans. it will pop head back a little when it shifts gears. K&N cool air filter and that's about it. I love my truck, if u hit the gas she drops a little in back and takes off like a scalded dog. 😂😂😂
Hey good video love the truck. You do know wix is a better filter then ac Delco is OEM and wix is a performance filter. That's why wix is used in racing. Not nocking the OEM filter cause it's still a good filter. I use them sometimes when I can't get a wix cause I change my oil every 2500 miles in my daily cammed truck 🙂 but my dirt late model I only use wix racing filters and and same with the drag car
Didn’t know! All they had was ACDelco so I got that, wasn’t trying to knock any other brand. I was just frustrated running back and forth to the store hahaha
@@SiskBuilt ebay if you wanna go the cheap route . A lot of spots won’t ship the grill since it’ll break easily but ebay will lol. Upper Bumper pad is cheap, just gonna have to cut and lower your bumper brackets. Street concept 1 for the cowl hood if you want the best. Can’t wait with the on going build . She a nasty one fs 😮💨
That oil change is a big mess I feel so bad that clean up must be a lot. panda looks so clean by the way I loved the video do you know what quick release Raquel has in her Camaro? 🤍
I use either 10w40 or 15w40. 5 quarts. And my 6th quart is Lucas oil stabilizer
I also use Lucas. Some people call it snake oil. But I have seen it quiet alot of noisy engines
Nice!!!! Bet it quiets it down some, I can’t really hear anything but the exhaust

I’ll let you know once my truck is done. Gotta meet up with you and give you that stage 2 cam for the black truck
Apparently it’s ready for it, previous owner said it’s been refreshed and it’s a 5.3 🫡
@@SiskBuilt perfect. Just give me a few weeks for my motor to get back so I can up in the truck lol

I use mobil delvac 15w-40 in all high performance and high mileage engines. Had people look at me like im crazy
Is 15w-40 a thicker oil?
@@Dtxmundo yes . plus diesel has more zinc and detergent which helps clean the sludge.
Yeah, I’ve been using 15-40 for about 3-4 years bow
Is it not too thick for LS lifters and passages? Would it cause too much pressure and heat?
@@isidrosevier1125 this is what I used in a 99 Silverado and 99 ws6 and never had issues with oil pressure or lifters

That’s awesome! Hahahah
I also use a PF61 oil filter on my 5.3
People also underestimate how shitty the fuel down here in Florida is, good gas & good oil go a long way.
E85 I heard was tougher on the oil so to help I change it about every 3k miles!
@@SiskBuilt it is indeed, after 100k miles I up’d my oil change intervals even tho we don’t have any E in my part of Florida sadly.
Are oil coolers beneficial? What maintenance is required for an oil cooler?

Totally understandable parts stores have been crazy lately with parts not in stock ha love the truck sounds nice
No plans for an hd front end conversion? 🤔

How did the trip go? Did you happen to calculate the fuel mileage?
What oil cooler do you have?
Some eBay/Amazon one. I’ll have to find the brand
What’s your exhaust set up?
would you trust it driving to Massachusetts and back
I drove it to New Jersey and back!
@@SiskBuilt oh ok that’s great to here I’ve been thinking about getting one but I’d need it to made that drive every now and then
you don’t have to fill the filter just slap it on there bub
why dont u like wix filters ?.....are they making shitty filters now ?
Ha I was gonna say the same thing. Wix is actually a better filter then frame and OEM that's why we use them in dirt track racing and drag racing
