XD I know Kakeru is only ever interested in nee-chan but I actually managed to handwave it for my story by having him believe that the main character could replace nee-chan (since it's based on the ending where he doesn't get nee-chan). Main girl is bisexual and he kills all of her male romantic interests but leaves the girl one alive because he doesn't see her as a threat... Until she provokes him way too much and decides to kill her anyways.
In all honesty I'm happy someone else heard that and not just me, I never notice anyone comment about that and can't understand where they hear 'friend' from.
