There are Tswanas in South Africa. South Africa has the biggest Tswana population ahead of Botswana and Zimbabwe. Kalangas are builders of Great Zimbabwe ancient city. Shonas who are 80% of Zimbabwe population are an offshoot of Kalangas. Zimbabwe has bigger population of Kalangas on top of their offshoot the Shona tribe. A bit of History and Geography. These people were only separated by 1884 Berlin Conference: Partition of Africa which drew borders not taking into consideration the tribal bounderies and our kingdoms.

North West is mainly a Tswana speaking Province. It is the Province that was specifically designated to Tswana during the apartheid days.
