Hi Jose, hope it’s not too late for a question. What I really liked about the Mudita Pure is the feel in the hand. Welrounded, very sturdy and almost a soft surface. Is the Kompakt similar?
It is similar. The build quality feels good in hand. And it does have a nice feel for the polycarbonate. It is not slippery or super soft like the Pure, but it does feel nice in hand.
Not yet. Once they give me the new update (that gives me access to the file subsystem), I’ll be able to test sideloaded apps like Eink bro or other browsers. But it should be possible.

Any idea why this E Ink phone is expensive? Less expensive than a new iPhone but a basic Kindle is $109. I feel like $200 would be a good price for a simple phone and even $200 is a bit high

@@heineor A flip phone can make phone calls and take pictures, those cost $50 and less. I'll agree that it has to do with certifications and everything else.

✨Nokia Piccolo Phone is Best✨👶♥️
Personally this is a big deal for me, I would really want a dumb phone with Whatsapp and Teams so I can stay connected where I need but cut my screen time with media and games
The body looks like a Alcatel Pixi 3. Nice
It should be like $70-$80 MAX for what it is..$350 for it is just Crazy...
Ok.
I think I'm switching my Jelly Star.
Size of this phone?
4.3" screen & 128 x 70 x 12.6mm dimensions for size.
@JoseBriones 70 is quite wide. An iPhone mini is 64 and an S24 is 70.6
Ah It’s nearly perfect, but I’m so reliant on having a browser. I’d really want to use this as a daily.
I have tried some browsers on the device. Most of them don't work, but I am still testing. I'll showcase how sideloading works soon.
this should be the ONE so far… just give us a hard coded black and white screen but let us control the apps… im betting the stuff like whatsapp would work… wallet app should work but bank apps probably… Ehailing apps like Grab probably wont work i think it needs the google integration
Am I the only person upset by the fact that all these apps can be sideloaded? I'm a dumbphone user in part because I lack self control and will download all the apps I'm trying to avoid from the typical smart phone. I really like the kompakt :/
One step forward in breaking a habit. Eink may help as a deterrence.
does not lag is quite a stretch, e-ink will never be as fast
I am comparing it to other e-ink screens. Not AMOLED or LCD. It’s well optimized for e-ink standards and the refreshes are few and between.
Any idea why this E Ink phone is expensive? Less expensive than a new iPhone but a basic Kindle is $109. I feel like $200 would be a good price for a simple phone and even $200 is a bit high
Can the kindle make phone calls? Well, that's exactly why it's cheaper. Certification of phones is very very expensive. Remember that they must work well in each country and support the respective networks.
Certifications, economies of scale, niche product. Just some of the reasons.
Not to mention not HEAVILY subsidized by a tech giant that wants you in their ecosystem and your info.
@@heineor A flip phone can make phone calls and take pictures, those cost $50 and less. I'll agree that it has to do with certifications and everything else.
This phone will teach you patience 😅
all is super but music :spotify or apple music
Sideloaded.
Good ad!
Not an ad. I am unable to test anything more than this. Once I get access to the Android subsystem and sideloading, there will be more apps showcased and more questions answered. I did not receive compensation for this video just to clear anything else up.
i'd also be interested to know where the phone is made. i try not to send money to dictators, which basically means that the only phones i can buy are from sony and samsung. seeing as mudita is a polish company, maybe their phones are built in a democratic country? does it say on the back of it where it's made?
They said it's made in Asia. I am unsure where, but I'll ask more details from them.
@@JoseBriones thanks, that would be great!
Honestly the camera would be cooler if the photo looked like e-ink too. Disappointing to see that the actual file is just a crappy normal photo lol
Nooo 😂
