Watching the game Eng were in control for about 13 mins then their whole shape fell apart. What happened to any foundations laid by Eddie Jones and where's the legacy of that era or were the RFU just very short sighted when Eddie was employed. Why have Eng slipped backwards so rapidly since. We are papering over the cracks if we think Engs performances were good enough or that we have progressed. When Stuart Lancaster took the team all those years ago, he left a team which Eddie used to progress. Lancaster left a legacy of players and development. All of the coaches under him have excelled.
One day England might actually play some rugby instead of just kicking the leather off the ball. Might as well just stick 15 forwards out there for all the use the backs got. The actual England team is most probably the worse resourced team at the World cup and that is for one simple reason. The clubs have no interest in supporting the England team. So bad that Watson who would have played does not have a club to play for because the clubs dont want players who have to do English duty. I am hoping the RFU buy a club and start to stack it with eligible players.

Borthwick had less than 12 months to prepare, still got them to the semis as the only undefeated team at that stage & lost by the slimmest of margins to the defending world champions & number 1 team in the world. What Borthwick & Owen have achieved in a short period of time is nothing to turn your nose to.
When did wearing medals become a thing at RWCs ? Pre 2019 losing finalists never wore medals . Losing finalists are obliged to attend the medal ceremony and collect their medal. There has never been an obligation for players to wear them in previous RWCs including this one . Why is wearing a medal suddenly important to some fans now ? I don't get it ?

What I find strange is when England got mullered by South Africa 4 years ago they didn't show any appreciation for the silver medal, 4 years on they're over the moon with a bronze medal 🤔.
I realised it isn't a serious question but there is an interesting point behind it. (Well , ok, I think it's interesting). A good few years ago now a study was done of Olympic competitors. They found that consistently the happiest people after an Olympic race were : the gold medal, the bronze medal and last place. Gold are happy they won. Bronze is happy to have got a medal and last place is just happy to be there. Consistently least happy was the silver medal position.
I suspect it’s because 4 years ago they had literally just lost the game, whereas for this they had a week to get into the headspace for it. But I suspect this basic level of nuance is lost on you.

I think Argentina were underated by the England coaching team and as a result were lucky to win it with the selection they made but it made for a more entertaining game. I am surprised Ford wasnt on the pitch at all, I would have given him the second half 🌗 but I am not the manager 😂. Argentina can beat anyone if they are playing at their best. So many international teams at a similar level these days 😊 . How did England bring the game into disrepute ? Were they really that bad ? I thought their game against Argentina in the group was fascinating. Their semi against the Boks was a fantastic game, credit to the Boks in closing it but England were close.
Maybe you need to realise that RWC rugby isn’t just about scoring tries, it’s about finding a way to win, it’s playing the conditions.
Certainly England didn’t have flair, and restrictive in their game but for a team as unfancied as they were , but they showed heart , commitment. And are you really suggesting that England were the most dour and cynical in the tournament. Take your blinkers off

I think Argentina were underated by the England coaching team and as a result were lucky to win it with the selection they made but it made for a more entertaining game. I am surprised Ford wasnt on the pitch at all, I would have given him the second half 🌗 but I am not the manager 😂. Argentina can beat anyone if they are playing at their best. So many international teams at a similar level these days 😊 . I would have personally liked to see more of Ford on the pitch throughout the world cup... why is there not room for Ford, Farrel and the "new" full back 😮 on the same team? Any 💡 ideas why?
