@@deepdarkmidnight That's not how these categories work. They work on average range which is labeled the comfort zone. A person with a 4+ octave range can sing under at least two labeled types, but it's the three preferred octaves which dictate their labeled category.

Yes, she does have a a good french. The only real thing not accurate comes with some words that ends with a 'e' because she usually pronounced a 'é' instead (like a 'ay' in english), like italians do sometimes. It's only something minor however.
Her french accent is pretty good in most of the songs i've heard(Je ne regrette rien, dernière danse, etc.). The only song with some french bad accent is La vague. You should listen it because that is probably one of the best intimate languorous song. Her interpretation (half french and half russian) is incredible and the mix of the two langages is pretty good too. You should also listen 'me voy' a spanish flamenco intimate song really well interpreted as always. Dernière danse with Adam Ferello production is pretty special too.
I have watched reactions to Diana by three different vocal coaches (one of them is also an opera singer), all of whom made reference to her contralto voice. One was so surprised that somebody only 15 years old could be a 'true contralto' that she kept stopping and re-playing segments to 'check again' just what she was hearing. Personally, I *love* that deep voice; but also that she can still go relatively high, too! *And* that she does that cool chanting/yodeling thing of hers, too!

As to contralto, I agree with you, thats not her natural range of voice, although she manages to go down there pretty impressively with her tongue technique. She kinda reminds me of Yma Sumac, who had that heavenly high range which felt very natural for her, but she managed to go very deep sometimes, probably few tones lower than Diana.
Diana is a Contralto , I saw a interview with her and she said so herself . At the time I didn't know what a Contralto was so I immediately researched it . If anyone would know it would be her she's been seeing singing coaches since she was 5 and works with the best of the best like Igor Krutoy . Just can't remember which interview unfortunately

Good sir, from what I can find, Diana was found to have a range from B3 to G6, so 2 octaves and 5 notes. However, I've also read she's lost a couple of notes on the top of her top range (maybe due to puberty?) but I haven't heard anything about losing bottom notes. Just thought I'd share. I've heard from several professionally trained opera singers that her French is superb. Some of the vowels in French can pose some difficulty if it's not your native language. Great reaction video. P.S. You're adorable :-)

Some people mentioned already, but its worth repeating... there are some reaction videos by professional opera singers that have called her a true contralto. Also, one of them mentioned that her French was very very good. She said that level of singing, some altering of pronunciation might be necessary because of trying to pronounce nasal vowels while singing.

But it's about the tone quality. If she doesn't have the tone quality, but the low notes, then she would just be may be a mezzo who can sing really low notes and has a big range.
Even altos go lower :) I still think she is a dramatic mezzo soprano or an alto :) her tembr is really deep but the notes aren't :) Anyway, who cares? She sings beautifully :)

I speak french and her accent is not very good. While some words are pronounced perfectly, there are others that I wouldn't be able to understand without knowing the lyrics of the song. This is to be expected though for a non-native speaker. It's similar to when you hear Chinese people sing in English only by memorizing the sounds or how it would sound for you to sing in Chinese. It doesn't take away from the performance or the enjoyment for me though.

in some close ups looks like she has a cleft lip, which would mean her pallet would have been disconnected at birth. would this contribute to her sound?

Po odczytaniu tekstów Panow Radziwinowicza i Kublika w GW codziennie z cała rodziną ustawiamy się w szeregu na bacznosc przed domem na (po europejsku) podstrzyżonym trawniku i przed krzyżem otoczonym flagami Watykanu, Polski, Ukrainy, NATO, USA i UEj w dni robocze śpiewamy "Boże coś Polskę" i "Mazurka Dąbrowskiego"... na weekendy nucimy mruczandem "Odę do Radości" a w święta narodowe pieśń "Nie rzucim ziemi skąd nasz ród", ktorej towarzyszy palenie kukły Putina powitego w rosyjską flagę.
Wraz z zaufanymi sąsiadami stworzyliśmy terenowe oddziały samoobrony do walki z aneksją i zielonymi ludzikami.
W garażu i warsztacie zakleiłem wszystkie nagie fotki żony putinowskiego pachołka Donalda Trumpa fotografiami Błogosławionej Zawsze Dziewicy Marii Matki Bożej oraz Ursuli Gertrudy von der Leyen.
Objąłem osobistymi sankcjami ekonomicznymi agencje towarzyskie, zatrudniające Białorusinki, Rosjanki a nawet rosyjskojęzyczne Ukrainki. Nie tankuję na "Lukoilu". Nie piję ruskiej wódki...
Przestałem nawet jeść pierogi ruskie... Na kolacje - w znak solidarności z wielkim przyjacielem Narodu Polskiego prezydentem Zelens'kim - regularnie spożywam kurczaka po kijowsku... a w dni postne barszcz ukraiński. Na deser gryzę jabłka, które popijam cydrem.
Na skrzyżowaniach i rondach nie daję samochodom z kacapską rejestracją pierwszeństwa... To za rozbiory, Katyń, za pozostawienie nam w zdewastowanym stanie w 1945 Wrocławia, Gdańska, Kołobrzegu, za zrównaną z ziemią Warszawę, za Lwów, Wilno, Grodno, za PRL-owską okupację i Smoleńsk...
Od kilku lat bojkotuję ruskie filmy... Wywaliłem na śmietnik ruskich literackich trolli Tołstojewskich, Puszkinów, Bułhakowych, Buninów, Lermontowów i Czechowów, Jesieninów, Majakowskich, Błoków, Achmatowych, Cwjetajewych, Mandelsztamów, Pasternaków, Jewtuszenkow... Mykołę Gogola na razie zostawiłem.
Zadnych Chorow Aleksandrowa, zadnych Dian Ankudinowych!!!! Wtwalilem na przemiał wszystkie vinyle z Biczewską, Wysockim i Okudżawą, Prokofjewem, Musorgskim a nawet kompakty z gejowskimi czastuszkami Czajkowskiego... W naszej zagrodzie nie ma miejsca na uprawianie rosyjskich ruletek czy inszych ruskich baletow.
Gospodarstwo i cała rodzinę całkowicie zdebolszewizowałem i zdekacapowizowałem.
Spaliłem pożółkłe dyplomy przodownika pracy i stare legitymacje PZPR, do ktorej dziadek i ojciec musieli wstapić pod grozba utraty zycia. Zniszczyłem wszystkie PRL-owskie świadectwa szkolne, na których figurował język rosyjski. Rozdarłem w strzepy wszystkie czerwone ubrania (łącznie z majtkami)... i stare filcowe walonki babci.
Dzieki starym znajomosciom Arcybiskupa Wielgusa cichaczem przeniosłem szczątki dziadka z cmentarza zasłużonych działaczy partyjnych na cmentarz katolicki oraz wziąłem uroczysty ślub kościelny z żoną 25 lat po ślubie cywilnym.
Czytając bajki dzieciom zamieniłem już Złego Wilka, Smoka i Babę Jagę - Putinem...
Wywaliłem z szopy wszystkie sierpy i młotki. Zmieniam natychmiast kanał sportowy gdy widzę na ekranie nacpanych ruskich pilkarzy, naszprycowane testesteronem ruskie gimnastyczki artystyczne, tancerki na lodzie albo sterydalnie zsynchronizowane pływaczki..
Córkom, których imiona zmieniłem z Olgi i Ludmiły na Hillary i Angele zakazałem oglądania filmów o (zd)radzieckich Czterech Pancernych i sowieckim agencie wpływu poruczniku/kapitanie Hansie Klossie...
O ile naszego owczarka alzackiego "Szarika" przechrzciłem na "Anakondę" o tyle dla domowego kota rasy rosyjskiej (niebieskiej) - ku rozpaczy dzieci - niewiele już mogłem zrobić. (Przy okazji uprzejmie donosze, ze jeden z dziennikarzy GW jest w posiadaniu podrzuconego mu w Moskwie przez FSB kota syberyjskiego prowokacyjnie wabiacego sie "Marusia".)

I've heard from several professionally trained opera singers that her French is superb. Some of the vowels in French can pose some difficulty if it's not your native language.

I've heard multiple voice coaches say she's contralto, and seen a few say mezzo contralto.
Some people mentioned already, but its worth repeating... there are some reaction videos by professional opera singers that have called her a true contralto. Also, one of them mentioned that her French was very very good. She said that level of singing, some altering of pronunciation might be necessary because of trying to pronounce nasal vowels while singing.

I've never heard so many people talk about a singer's voice as much as Diana's, trying to figure out what her norm is.
Не нравится, когда прерывают видео прямо по середине слова! Теряются самые сильные места в исполнении. Может автор реакции, конечно, невероятно крут и слышит даже то, что заглушает собственной речью?!

But it's about the tone quality. If she doesn't have the tone quality, but the low notes, then she would just be may be a mezzo who can sing really low notes and has a big range.
@@Rosannasfriend F3 isnt unreacheble for mezzo. Try to listen Pink, she have quite similar tone at F3 as Diana. And Pink is mezzo.
In an interview, Diana said that her lowesr note is E under first octave. Whatever that is.
Even altos go lower :) I still think she is a dramatic mezzo soprano or an alto :) her tembr is really deep but the notes aren't :) Anyway, who cares? She sings beautifully :)

I speak french and her accent is not very good. While some words are pronounced perfectly, there are others that I wouldn't be able to understand without knowing the lyrics of the song. This is to be expected though for a non-native speaker. It's similar to when you hear Chinese people sing in English only by memorizing the sounds or how it would sound for you to sing in Chinese. It doesn't take away from the performance or the enjoyment for me though.

in some close ups looks like she has a cleft lip, which would mean her pallet would have been disconnected at birth. would this contribute to her sound?
