I am genuinely awed by the fact that this random guy died over five millennia ago and we have the ability to reconstruct at least part of his story. I get that science is amazing and we're so inundated with stories of how the universe was formed or what Earth looked like a billion years ago, but every now and then something just clicks and I stop taking it all for granted. Even if the feeling only lasts a moment, it's so empowering to belong to a species that is this intelligent... until I click over to the next news story and the feeling quickly evaporates.

Not necessary. Thousands of people have gone missing in arctic regions, and mountains like Everest in the last millennia. There are way more people around today than there were 5000 years ago, so there wont be a shortage of human popsicles in another 5000 years to be discovered.

just because there are so many people here that think keto is a fat heavy diet:
i have been in ketosis for a year, mostly eating veggies(about 2/3 of the daily intake), fish, nuts, a breakfastegg and a cup of milk. to top of my calories i added about 100g of lean ham and 100g cheese.
thats all i need for my livestyle which is: work all day behind a desk and sit infront of the TV or PC at home.
if you dont have a physicly demanding work or go to the gym every day, you can easily get the calories you need without high fat foods.

Living in the mountains you were hardly likely to have a typical European diet of 5000 years ago. It would be difficult there to grow the grains that were the staples of most people since the dawn of agriculture.

Fiyaaah That's not really shocking. Average nodern diet full of saturated fats, salt and sugar is the most unhealthy way of sustenance humans ever had.

John H Baumgaertner Yes, of course. Oetzi ate a lot of meat, but his diet was balanced, wasn't overweight and had athletic build. He might had symptoms of impending cardiovascular disease, but overall was healthier than large chunks of modern societies around the globe.
Just remember that one-third of current world population is overweight and one-ninth is clinically obese. That's a pandemic never seen before in our species.

It doesnt make sense that a head wound was a blow by another human. He still had all of his tools including a copper ax. Another person may have left his flintknapping tools, but never that ax. He most likely got shot in the shoulder, tried to escape and ended up killing himself by falling and getting a head impact.

I am surprised that Otzi's arteries were full of fatty plaque. I would have thought that for all the exercise an ancient fellow got just doing everyday activities would have countered any build-up of fatty plaque in the arteries. Was farming of grains not happening in that part of ancient Europe back then that there is so little of it found in his stomach?

He also showed signs of longterm malnutrition and parasites. He had arthritis as well, so he may not have been very active in general for some time. His journey may have been more excruciating necessity than exploration.
