From the Context in Deuteronomy Grape is being condemned in verse 25 and is punishable by death, verse 28 it's not a case of grape but two consenting adults who have engaged in premarital sex.

Great work, Avery. I have explained the difference between Deuteronomy 22:25 versus 22:28 many times, using the Hebrew text. Never thought to refer to Exodus 22, though. That makes the passage very clear.
The NIV is okay for casual reading of the Bible, but not for serious study. That "easy-read" version plays a bit loose with the original Hebrew and Greek texts.

After the sack of Rome, earnest theologians discussed whether girls who had been graped "had lost the glorious crown of virginity."
Historian Gibbon related how a Roman girl refused the advances of a young Visigoth until, in exasperation, he struck her in the neck with his sword. When she continued to fight him off, he finally gave up the attempt-then escorted her to the Vatican and paid the guards there six gold pieces to make sure she was returned inviolate to her husband. She definitely ask God to help her applied the teaching of Prophet Moses.
Other, less fortunate, women and girls killed themselves to escape being graped. The pillaging lasted for three days, until the Visigoth wagons were piled so high with loot that they groaned on their axles.
The Lord God Holy Spirit has given us two accounts of grape in the bible to be recorded for our learning, especially for women to read. I kindly ask all to read the incident concerning Joseph’s sister and King David’s daughter.

When I first read that verse in the NIV, I interpreted it as equating the act to "rape" because women were expected to be virgins before marriage and finding a husband under those circumstances would have been extremely difficult. Therefore, the man who committed the act was required to take responsibility for the woman.
So the NIV sounded just fine to me, what do you think?

hello, the amalekites were wicked and evil, history shows that they were in to child sacrifice; and its time for God to judge them using the Israelites. kind of unrelated but gen 15:16 shows that abraham couldn't go to the land of caanan because God is waiting for the people's sin to be 'ripe' in a sense. If we were to understand scripture in the CO-text; God sent Jonah to Nineveh to warn them, and they repented. We also know that Balaam know who God was(gentile), so whenever we see Judgement from God we need to understand that verses like “For I have no pleasure in the death of anyone who dies,” declares the Lord GOD. “Therefore, repent and live.” (Ezekiel 18:32) and “Come now, and let us reason together,” Says the LORD, “Though your sins are as scarlet, They will be as white as snow; Though they are red like crimson, They will be like wool. (Isaiah 1:18) God is Rich in Mercy.
Numbers 31: I mentioned Balaam, and in a sense Balaam is the reason behind the slaughter. Balaak Came to Balaam the priest to Curse the Sons of Jacob, and He called on YHWH, and YHWH said no, but balaam gave in to try to get God to curse because he wanted the money and prestige that balaak promised, so balaam's plan was to use the midianite women to sudeuce Israeites into idoltry, and after there was plague in the camp (IMO because std's) God said to go and slaughter the Midians. [Text referenced: Numbers 22, 23, 24, 25, 31. Deuteronomy 23:4-5, Joshua 13:22, 24:9-10]
Please if anyone finds issue with this please critic, I used the Golden Rule of Bible Interpretation. aka Read the Text in Context with the Co-text, the sum of thy word is truth right?

Well in that case if he is consistent enough he has to become like Bart ehrman and then he can question christianity. Because we have the compiler of the Qur'an telling us that the ones who say that they have the complete Qur'an are liars. That's uthman's statement who was the third rightly guided Caliph according to their religion. We have testimony of aisha saying that there are more than 200 verses missing from the Qur'an. And the verses related to stoning and breastfeeding were eaten by a goat when she was busy performing the death ceremony of their profit. So if he is consistent enough then he has to leave his religion and then ask these questions.
      Did you understand buddy ?

The original text of 1st John 5:7 didn't contain the Comma Johanneum. That was a scribal gloss that accidently got included into the main text due to a copying error. The error was discovered and corrected several centuries ago. This happened ONLY in WESTERN, LATIN Bibles. NONE of the other Bibles -Greek, Armenian, Georgian, Coptic, Old Church Slavonic, etc - ever contained the Comma Johanneum. We don't need this scribal gloss to accept and believe in the Trinity. Clueless Muslims seem to think that the concept of the Trinity rests entirely upon this passage. SMH.

Imam Ahmad recorded that Abu Sa`id Al-Khudri said, "We CAPTURED some women from the area of Awtas who were ALREADY married, and we disliked having sexual relations with them because they already had husbands.
So, we asked the PROPHET (Muhammad) about this matter, and this Ayah was revealed, e وَالْمُحْصَنَـتُ مِنَ النِّسَآءِ إِلاَّ مَا مَلَكْتَ أَيْمَـنُكُمْ ( Also (forbidden are ) women already married, except those whom your right hands possess).
Consequently, we had sexual relations with these women." This is the wording collected by At-Tirmidhi An-Nasa'i, Ibn Jarir and Muslim in his Sahih.

Hi Avery, I have a concern about this topic. Why does Deut. 22:25 specifically mention that she’s also married in the case she is attacked? It’s concerning to me that it seems that the penalty on the offender depends on whether the woman was married or not, putting less importance/significance on the forced violation of a woman and more on her relationship status. Is this a wrong interpretation? What about the case in which a woman is not married and attacked in this way? Thank you for your awesome work.

    Child Marriage In The Bible?
Christians believe that the Bible has nothing to say with regards to the condoning or approving of child marriage. However, when we look into the Bible, we find passages that do approve of it. One of the most prominent examples is of Numbers 31.
17 Now therefore kill every male among the little ones, and kill every woman that hath known man by lying with him.
18 But all the women children, that have not known a man by lying with him, keep alive for yourselves. Numbers 31:17-18 (KJV)
This is one of the most disturbing set of passages that I have come across in the Bible.
