they were most likely using the shimenawa's reminiscence artifact set, which takes away energy from the burst when a skill is used, and buffs the skill damage by a lot

No character is bad, but they’re judged based on how much effort it takes to make them deal good damage. You can give 200+ crit damage and other good stats to basically anyone and they’ll deal big damage, but some characters only need minor investment and they’ll do the same damage even with scrap artifacts. Also, it’s such a letdown that hoyo always restricts a character from becoming a dps unless they’re c6 -Stares at yelan, furina and dehya-
I want her despite being Diluc main with plunge team. I can use her as Dps if I get bored or Support for Resistance. Love her Drip and Theme, she's cool. Disappointed how she turned out but still want her

Cap Hutao would deal more damage since this is the character itself alone. She benches Diluc hard, but Diluc with Xianyun is a different story, he can rival her. Idk with Lyney I don't use him lol

Shouldn't you use Yoimiya's burst on the corolla? It does a lot of shield damage.
Yoimiya is on Shimenawa artifact, if she used burst. Her normal damage later wouldn't have such good damage so it wouldn't be worth it
It's probably better to start doing damage sooner with a different set though rather than taking 4 seconds to knock it down at all
