I rock a Tan 2021 DC Mutiny boots and I wont think of wanting another pair of boots outside of DC... DC sells amazing boots that are so COMFORTABLE!!! I found them snug to fit my foot in at the very beginning of the day to put on but after I tighten up everything... I LOVE that i spend all day in comfort and warmth
I honestly have never worn DC shoes cause I wear a couple puma shoes but mostly cowboy boots all year. With that said I wear a lot of DC gear for sbowboarding and have the DC The 156 snowboard which is an amazing snowboard to use. @@WontSeeReplies
Similar to my 2023 control boa’s which were the most comfortable boot I’ve ever owned. However, they took a real beating after my 20ish day season, the rubber and the faux leather on the front toe started peeling and the whole boot got pretty soft. Just bought the 2024 controls but am heavily considering something more durable like the Transcends.
@JollyOrfali dc judge is stiff but not as stiff as the transcend. I picked the control to try a softer boot since I've been riding dc judge boots the past 20yrs. I went back to the judge, better liner, I just hate breaking them in.
Love DC, but had the Mutiny’s for a few years and the top part above my instep never loosened up. It has a crease that is supposed to help lock down foot, but I have giant instep and heel. Any similar models that are similar but don’t have the top of foot lock in thingy? Thanks
Hi guys , what are the main differences between the phase pro boa and the control boa ? Ive just received my control boa and they feel slightly small as my toes are a bit uncomfortable at the end , and ive just noticed the phase pro for almost the same price , this is my first pair of boots but i would class myself maybe low end of intermediate usually hire all my gear . Thanks
I've replaced my Controls (my first boot purchase) with the Phase Pros. The second boa on the Control tightens the lower half of the lacing, whereas the one on the Phase Pro tightens an internal lace around your ankle. Solves my heel lift problem and the board feels more responsive and well.. in control. The one issue I had was that on one of my first days on the slopes, the lacing came apart. Boa will replace for free because of the lifetime warranty. They say to replace both sides so they're "even", but I didn't want to fix what wasn't broken. At the end of this past season the same thing happened on the other side. I think in the factory the terminal end of the lace was never properly done (you have to knot it and then melt the end). I didn't have any replacement lacing and tried to go back to the Controls but as soon as I put them on they just didn't feel "secure" enough, for lack of a better word. I did not feel solidly intermediate until switching to the Phase Pros (next step is a more technical board haha). This is secondary, but the Phase Pros also have a thinner liner - this is the 22/23 ones vs 2020/21 Control. Same size. They are easier to get on and off but not noticeably different in fit while riding (other than the heel hold, which was drastic for me). I believe that 22/23 release of the Pros was the first, and the internal lacing is patent pending, so I was kind of a guinea pig and they may have improved on the design last season.
They are similar boots but Transcend is a bit stiffer than the Judge. Other than that it mainly features that make it better for hiking in the backcountry.
Easy peasy! All are great all-mountain boots but there's going to be additional tech in the boots as you spend more money. More importantly from a performance aspect there is a difference in the flex of these 3 boots. The Control is more of a medium flex for a good smooth yet responsive feel. The Judge is more of a medium/stiff flex for a little quicker response and support. The Phantom is going to be a stiff flex for the ultimate quickest, aggressive feel edge-to-edge. One isn't really better than the other, it's just about personal preference and what sounds best for you and your riding style. 👍
@@oldmanwintereight great reply man thanks. I generally prefer the looser flexy feel. The last boots I had are the DC Travis rice, but they are falling apart. So I guess the control or the judge would be the ones to go for? U never know until u actually buy and ride with them a few times, so it's basically just a gamble
@@DigitalSamTV It can be a little bit of a gamble, but one other good piece of advice. You can always loosen up a stiffer boot a little at the top to make it feel softer but you can't make a softer boot stiffer. 🤷♂ Hopefully that helps
my ride lasso 2019 heel lace broke and something is preventing a new lace being fed behind the ankle. Will the transcend's storm flap prevent any boa repairs?
Really just depends on your flex preference. Phantom is a stiff boot, and a Judge is more of a medium/stiff flex. Can't go wrong either way! -> www.the-house.com/snbo-dc
I can't believe how easy they made that storm flap zipper go up on the Transcend.. I just got mine and am considering returning because the zipper is a mfer to get up even without my feet in them... ughhhhhhhh
@@thehouse thanks for your reply, but ... Do you think it will truly make a big difference if I am not a pro or advanced rider? I don't do jumps. Thanks!
Hi Mat,for a size 10 The judge or the Swath have a smaller footprint? Would you say that the judge or swath are less bulky? And finally are the dc true to size or the burton? Thank you
Both boots are very true to size. As for for footprint you wouldn't notice any difference between the 2. The biggest difference is flex between those 2 boots. Could you highlight the key differences between the Judge and the Transcend? Flex, fit, profile, weight same/reduced footprint? Cheers!
They are similar boots but Transcend is a bit stiffer than the Judge. Other than that it mainly features that make it better for hiking in the backcountry.
Thanks @@thehouse ! Does the transcend offer the same foot fit? (Extra room/less roomy) or is the footprint itself reduced compared to the judge?
