Since my dj mixer broke and dj mixers offer is so poor (and expensive!) where i live, i decided to switch to dj controllers. So far its a mixed bag experience. I'm the type of dj that use a lot of reverb and echo also when transitioning between songs and with post fader fx First got an NI S2 Mk3. The good: very easy to play/use (FX is restraint yes but so easy to use!! i still miss that double delay) Also ALL FX is post fader and you can also control FX volume with gain/trim channel knobs. The bad: horrible build quality, FX wheels potentiometer started to fail near a year of usage (maybe they'll last longer if you don't are much into using FX), right now im doing the rma process with NI, waiting for a tested refurbished unit which i still have to decide if gonna keeps as backup controller or sell. Built-in sound: didn't like it at all (bass sounded flat as F), ended using it with a external audio-interface. Now i got for my birthday a pioneer DDJ-FLX4, it has a hardware unlock for Rekordbox 7 so i'm trying it. The good: Building material feels better overall, except maybe the pads that makes a more clicky sound than the ones on the NI S2 mk3. Built-in sound seemed so much better to me that the one on the S2. FX is clearly more complex that the one in the S2 but true is that i miss Traktor FX lol. I don't know why but NOT ALL FX IS POST FADER on RB/FLX4. Is not clear to me if this is RB or Pioneer gear restriction but it made noise to me that a simpler and cheaper controller like the S2 MK3 cant handle all fx post fader.
Ideal controllers for bedroom use if you are just gonna mix in the room don't buy anything over 500. I bought Rev7 and it wasn't as described and was a pointless buy as most small cheaper controllers do same job.
Same with the DDJ FLX6. If it doesn't have a separate power line (which means they most likely have 24 bit audio and balanced outs), it's just suitable for bedroom.
The best video on this topic! Definitely the video I needed.
I'll go with the s2 mk3 and virtual dj. Then will midi map the stem pads to it
I sold the flx4 recently and lovin VDJ with Kontrol S2 Mk3! Stems a phenomenal in VDJ. You get them workin off the EQ knobs? Game changer!

Had my eye on the numark Mixtrack pro fx some say its good for scratch and some say the platters are too small no idea.
Don't know why you didn't include the Inpulase 500 or the Numark Mixtrack Platinum FX.
This, replace the rev1 with one of those products instead as the rev1 has no real value for most
Numark NS4fx 😂
