SAPLING gender research activities in Mukono and Masaka districts, Uganda

To achieve gender equity and social inclusion in Uganda's livestock sector, ILRI has supported gender interventions in the pig sector under the SAPLING Initiative. This video explores some of the research activities conducted.
The CGIAR Initiative on Sustainable Animal Productivity - also known as Sustainable Animal Productivity for Livelihoods, Nutrition, and Gender Inclusion, or SAPLING - aims to assess trade-offs and demonstrate how improvements in livestock productivity can offer a triple win: generating improved livelihoods and nutritional outcomes; contributing to women’s empowerment; and reducing impacts on climate and the environment.
