Hey there. I thought of a job for Mr Brown. He could organize all the shoes on the porch everyday to make sure pairs are together and hopefully keep up with his shoes and sweep the porch for mom.
What a family, it's a tribute to you and your wife as well as your extended family to how your children step up and take care of business without being asked or nagged. Rebecca is super, Justin your very lucky to have her in your life. Heal quickly and you all have a great week.
Justin you have trained up your children well. They know how to do so many of the chores and taking care of the animals etc. and helping Mom with her chores also...y'all are such a well rounded family. Any one of you can fill a gap and that is so important in life no matter if it is outside work, inside work, office work...we all need those back up people that know the routine as well as you. Or Hippo since he was born at Christmas and someone else commented about the I want a Hippopotamus for Christmas song! Sometimes God makes us take a break even when it isn't convenient and with family, things still get done! Feel better and hopefully no doctor visit was needed today. I guess we will know on tomorrow's episode! BTW, I know I am not the only one who would sit through a weekly extra-long vlog since you have such great content!

I've scratched my cornea many times in working with horses, along with a few blunt force traumas to it. Eye injuries are so debilitating. I hope yours heals quickly for you!

While your tribe is always a paragon of family virtues, seeing yall buck up in the face of injury is uniquely inspiring. I can't name many families off the top of my head where a pair of young boys are given such responsibility and respect. Can't imagine anything else that would give young ones the confidence that they CAN make a difference, that they ARE valued, that they have something important to offer. Inspirational to say the least. An interesting stroke that God saw fit to lay Justin down on such an important day to him after Boots has passed. Maybe an injury to the eye is the Lord's way to show us all what we really need to see. Interesting video, great content! Thank you!!! P.S. Also I LOVE Rachel's part in this, really strikes a chord with this farm-ignorant, farm-wistful city-slicker. (Not to say that SHE is those things, just a nice perspective from someone on the outskirts but in-the-know when it comes to what yall do on a daily basis.)

Golden seal root boiled, cooled down to room temp and used as an eye wash few times a day. I tried it and it worked! Just sharing for what it's worth.

Hang in there. It takes time for eye trouble. I got a piece of metal in my dominate right eye one time and had to go to an eye surgeon to cut it out and had to wear a patch for a week. That was really tough. I had no depth perception.
Aunt Rachel did great work with the filming and helping Rebecca with the chores. I’m thinking you’re gonna have to hire her and I agree with her Handsome would be a great name for the new calf.
Hope you get some rest and your eye gets better and don’t worry about the farm it looks like the the women are having fun with the chores. Lily can show them how to milk.
So sorry to hear! I just got into Fletcher/Asheville area today to visit in-laws for the holidays. I have been a long-time subscriber and would love to bring my 4 y/o daughter by to help in whatever way we can. Unfortunately, my wife is sick with flu while we are here, so getting out would be good for everyone. Sorry to hear about Justin's eye. I wear either clear or yellow safety glasses all the time when I'm working on our place. They have saved my eyes several times. I also wear safety glasses when working under the car doing mechanical work to keep dirt and gunk from falling into them. Getting injured is a big concern on the homestead and has a huge ripple effect. Hope he gets better soon.
This is something I need to think about.
when I scratched my eye, I used a qtip of apple cider vinegar around the outside to keep the rim clean since it'll weep for a while. helped to keep bacteria at bay. Lord bless you all.

I hope Justin’s eye improves. I recently had.a stye. After a week, I went to urgent care and was given an injection and two oral antibiotics. I had treated it with compresses.

Put water bottles that have been frozen into your milk bucket to cool the milk immediately. It will change your life.

Slice a potatoe thin and place it on his eye lid with this eye closed. It takes the fever out and makes it feel better. Name the calf TBone!

I would still go and check that eye when you can, don't wait too long.
A scrach could heal verry quick in a eye but it could also invites bacteria and you end up with a bacteria infection in your eye..
Luckly its on a white part not the coloured part than you should see a doctor asap.
When its on the coloured part you could lose part of your vision.

When I scratched the white part of my eye when dealing with my contact, it was bad. Red, watering, and painful. Ice helps alot.
As the calf got the angel wings on his forehead I hope you’ll call him Angel😊 I’m sure the wings is a greeting from Boots , still loving on you all❤️

Rebecca is so wonderful! Stepping up and milking without a fuss after all that was said about not milking Flossie or on a cold morning. When she was needed she was right there and ready. Also Lilly is quite the little milk maid. You guys all working together shows what life is like when things don't go as planned. Thanks for sharing that with us. New calf is adorable too by the way.
Meatloaf sounds like a good name for the baby calf. And Meatloaf was a pretty cool rock group. Prayers for your eye Justin. My puppy ripped my cornea and it was painful. Ointment with an eye patch for a week.

If you are using Homeopathy for Justin, try the remedy "Aconite". In the Homeopathy group I am a member of this remedy is often called the 'arnica of the eye' and it's useful for trauma to the eye. Hope you feel better soon!

Try putting the milk jars in the sink to fill them, easier on arms, less spillage, and easy clean up. I do most of my mixing in sink also. Praying you all have a blessed and happy 2020

My nephew had his eye scratched in the same place, he had to go get antibiotics and eyedrops. The doctor put fluorescent stuff in his eye and used a blacklight to get a better look. Better safe than sorry when it comes to your eyes.

colloidal silver is the only thing I use for me and my animals eyes anymore!! 2-3 drops 2-3 times a day till healed. My shih tzu had a corneal scratch and the CS healed it up in just under 2 weeks.

Just a thought Justin has been doing the polar plunge and the Little Creek and when he jumps and he puts his head underneath the water for a few seconds could he possibly picked up some type of bacteria from the creek that got into his eye
