You might want to reach out to Century-Link and explain your situation. Often times, when companies are trying to prove how much "better" they are than others, they will do unique things to make you happy. If you tell them that you are a streamer with hundreds of thousands of subscribers, that Cox failed you repeatedly, and that you need to be able to use more data than what they allow, they might work with you on that. Just a thought...

For a while my ISP was intentionally throttling my internet to save bandwidth on their end, until eventually my father called in for assistance and someone on their end slipped up. The trick was to unplug the internet box from the power, AND unplug the battery for a minute +, then reconnect everything so it refreshes itself, the worker that slipped up actually got in trouble for telling us the trick, but we've had the same ISP the whole time and the trick still works haha, hope everything stays good for you!
What do you mean by the "battery"? Do you mean to just unplug the modem/router from the wall and the main power plug to the modem/router?

Nate I've got a good idea of what caused your issues. What is the model of your old modem/router? There's a problem that affects customers of cable ISPs all over, from the US and Canada to the UK, which is caused by the puma 6 chipset used in cable modems. It's so common that a MASSIVE range of cable modems are being added to "don't buy" lists on ISP and networking forums the world over, and it causes packet loss, obscene latency and jitter etc. I know you've already switched ISPs, but it might be worth looking up the model of your modem to see if that was the cause for closure, I guess? It would explain your issues and also the technician coming out and seeing "no issues" with his socket test when you're having problems on devices downstream from the modem. ISP techs aren't the brightest of sparks; you're lucky if you find someone who knows even a little more than "can you run a speed test?".
It seems to affect modems used by ISPs from Comcast to Rogers, Charter, Virgin Media and indeed Cox.

I'm having a somewhat similar problem, but my internet just completely freezes up/disconnects. It happens every few minutes. Called the ISP countless times and they won't fix it.

I actually have the same problem sometimes. But it only affects Bo4, in all other games i have stable internet. But when i lose connection in bo4, this also affects the whole internet, so i think its not client-sided.

Groovemaster2k I’ll never buy a gigabyte card again. EVGA seems to be ok, i just built a pc with a 2070 in it and it’s been working fine. But msi has been my favorite by far. The msi 2080 super also gets great temps

I live in Mesa AZ and if you look at a map of internet quality Arizona is rated as one of the worst bc all we have are century link and Cox and nobody knows enough about internet to care about the quality here so the two monopoly companies are just stagnated at service that was “good” according to the standards in the early 2000’s

Not even gonna lie, i would recommend water cooling the 2080 ti if you are going to use it. Theres too much power running through the card and thats why it dies. I would recommend if anything sticking with a 1080 ti 11 gig sli at best.

I have the same problem with my internet I quit blops 4 online a month or so ago.
you get a wireless gateway from Xfinity I have one an there isn't a data cap an once you buy it you own it an you pay for prepaid internet month to month or weekly
Hey Nate, I don’t know if this information will help or not but I use to work for century link and cox in my state and I use to help people out all the time with the internet service, a lot of the company’s especially cox and centurylink are pretty not helpful despite them wanting people to get good internet service, i would talk to cox again maybe email the corporate side too, because if you had the giga blast service I’m pretty sure you should have gotten full fiber, did they run full fiber into the house or was it only to the hub? Oh and century link specify if it was vdsl or dsl?. But on the bright side at least you got a price for life service with no contract.

It's the 2080ti that is having issues and they're widespread, not limited to any one model. Has to do with the gpu, not the cooling or the pcb, so brand/model is irrelevant.

I have a RTX 2070. Being 17 making 8 bucks an hour that's VERY VERY expensive. And I had the exact same problems you had with yours but I'm to broke to replace it again so I just deal with it crashing..

I had the same artifacts but in a 1080ti. I know the pain of having artifacts coming out of nowhere.
It always blows my mind how shitty internet is in most of America. I'm in canada and a data limit is unheard of. Any package you get where I live is going to be unlimited data. You also lasted much longer than I did. I'd have told them to fuck off after the first tech didn't fix it and switched ISP's. Even if you don't end up switching they give you free shit every time you get pissed off and threaten to leave.
Props for having so much patience with them but the US needs to get better internet. Most people I know in america have shitty speeds and shitty ISP's
