@@spompeywe took 706 out of Preston and eventually returned later that day on 47597 / 86260 - then 37891 / 37298 out to Poulton I think - before scrambling for a Glasgow train and home - @yesterdaystracks videos of the day reflect things perfectly
Some iconic liveries great clarity and variety, but the rail enthusiasts were definitely not fashion icons! Loved the class 60’s as close ups not that common. Top vid!
@@spompey Yes and the 47 4s associated with the turns were re pooled to mail trains or left on the scrapheap for years afterwards. They were still at Old Oak in 1995.

As I already mentioned April 92 was a cracking month for train pix, though I just missed the last 47 hauled London Oxford trains.
