I love the lit tree without decorations, or use minimal natural inspired decor. It will actually look more ‘natural’ once the plants are in the Hartley.
The bird house on the post looks wonderful...bet kitty will love it too. ... just the right height for him to lie in wait for a passing birdy. If so, just net off the side over the low fence bar.
The Christmas light reflections off the windows of the Hartley magnifies the beauty ten times over. It’s like listening to Mozart in Boston’s Symphony Hall.

I watched White Cottage Company after your video and noticed she has a bird house just beyond her porch, similar to your copper roof birdhouse, and also noticed she uses a previous pot for dirt. She frequently mentions you in her videos - just another fan - all over the world ♥
You guys are such an inspiration to so many people from all over the world. The GA family can live vicariously through your eyes and enjoy the beauty of all the seasons, but for me, especially Christmas. From the tree in the Hartley, to the children’s fairy garden, to all the trees and lights all around your property. It’s all so gorgeous!
When you took the cap off that post I cringed waiting for a spider and then thought, "that's crazy, no spiders?! How?!?!" Then a moment later... Ah, there it is 🤣 that bird feeder looks AMAZING right there!! I need a feeder like that to add to my collection... I'm a huge backyard bird feeder/watcher and have multiple feeding stations. It's such a joy to have the birds around in the garden ❤️

I had a lovely neighbor in Portland who had Suet Feeders for the birds and I would fill them for her when she was traveling. It was so amazing to see how fast they disappeared. ❤️

Lura, with power tools solving gardening problems small and big, is my hero. When i found out our lattice is coming loose from its post, I asked hubby to fix it. He said it does not need fixing. I said then i will bring the drill and do it myself. He said you will cut your fingers. I said I won't. Where did i get the confidence? From Laura. Thank you Laura!
That copper topped bird feeder is so Hartley-esque! It is on my wishlist! I love feeding the birds...it is such an awesome feeling to see all the little birds coming to the feeders! I ring a bell when I put out seed and the birds come flying from all around . 😃

Doing all we can to help the birds and beneficial insects make a home in our neighborhoods is well worth the effort and not difficult. Tree in the Hartley is magnificent! It’s perfect as it is….so many lights….and a perfect height. It’s so elegant in its simplicity….very spiritual. Caladiums are beautiful. They are such lovely colors and patterns. The bird feeder on the post is perfect in that spot. It is amazing how that one small object changes the look and feel of that space. WOW!

Laura, the simplicity of the tree in the Hartley it’s just beautiful. Also, I’ve never owned caladiums so I had a question regarding the bulbs. When planting caladiums in the landscape do they need to be dug up for the winter. If so, can they then be moved into a pot for the Christmas through Valentine season? I am in zone 6b. @ Maria, in the late fall I cut the leaves to my caladiums and elephant ears and re-planted the tubers (don’t bring in outdoor soil ) in my pots indoors. They are growing beautifully. This is the first time I have grown them so it’ll be interesting to see how long the leaves last. All of these plants were tubers when I purchased them in the summer. I wish potted caladiums were available in our gardening stores in the winter. Hence my rationale for bringing the tubers indoors. I am in zone 6 Canada which I believe is equivalent to zone 5 in US. ❄️🇨🇦
Yes, I'm in zone 7a and have to dig up my caladium tubers before the first frost. They have become one of my favorite plants. So pretty in the landscape and in pots. Wish I could get them in the winter for inside.

The bird feeder is beautiful! Your family will enjoy watching the birds, I bought a book on birds when I put our bird feeder up. Our family would look up the birds that would visit the feeder, it was a lot of fun. Still to this day my children now in their 20’s love seeing the birds at the feeder. We are blessed with cardinals visits.
The birdfeeder looks awesome - what would be amazing is if somehow you could have another birdfeeder posted a little bit closer to the Hartley and the birdfeeder would look like a miniature Hartley🤔🥰👍🏾👏🏾

First thing is THE TREE IS MAGICAL. There are no ornaments needed as the tree in its simplicity with the beautiful Harley is just magical. Second point is am I the only one who could have laid down with a blanket and fell asleep to the sound of that rain and seeing it come down on the glass. WOW!!!

Be still my heart! The tree is so pure and lovely, love it with no additional decorations. Bird house is where it always belonged-- spot made for it. Then all the gorgeous caladiums! They are the queen of my summer garden, white ones for the patio and light pink in a huge blue pot in the front. With the addition of Vista snowdrift by a fountain, perfection without a lot of fuss. Proven Winners is da bomb!

The coloured lights from Benjamin’s garden behind the Hartley made it look like a chapel with stained glass windows. Really pretty!

Yes! I LOVED seeing the Christmas tree in the Hartley, it made me so happy as though it were in my own back yard. Just magic!
First thing is THE TREE IS MAGICAL. There are no ornaments needed as the tree in its simplicity with the beautiful Harley is just magical.
Second point is am I the only one who could have laid down with a blanket and fell asleep to the sound of that rain and seeing it come down on the glass. WOW!!!

Be still my heart! The tree is so pure and lovely, love it with no additional decorations. Bird house is where it always belonged-- spot made for it. Then all the gorgeous caladiums! They are the queen of my summer garden, white ones for the patio and light pink in a huge blue pot in the front. With the addition of Vista snowdrift by a fountain, perfection without a lot of fuss. Proven Winners is da bomb!

The tree in the Hartley is so festive. 🎄You mentioned a counter in the Hartley for serving. Don’t forget space for a mini refrigerator. Maybe a cabinet under the counter to hide a fridge and storage for misc items.
