- I've been struggling a lot with countering slow loops and I got roasted in this video by my coach, former Chinese National Team member and 1996 Olympian, Amy Feng. I hope you guys can learn from my mistakes and check out the rest of my videos for more table tennis content.
Thanks for stopping by the channel, don't forget to subscribe!
Pro players are something else, she makes the loop look so easy to do.
Dude that's not even her good loop it's her slow spinny loop 😭 The fast one is nuts
@@Nathan_BriTT yeah ikr, it's like she's not even giving 10 percent on these ones, the technique just looks so good though still.
@@marcusannegarn8497 I know she makes everything look like that 😂 Even when she blocks it looks like she's not trying but she'll block 10 in a row from a 2200 like nothing 😂
We need to see it
@@rickyjackson1643 I got you, more Amy content coming soon 😎
Should you be bending your knees more?
Amy says just keep the knees slightly bent and focus mostly on the ankles. If you need to get lower, you can spread your feet wider, but bending your knees too much makes you move slow. 🏓 Thanks for the comment it helps the channel a lot 🙏🏻😎
Such a great coach. No ego, just good explaining and training. I wish i had an olympian coach as well. Use her as much as possible.
I know I'm so thankful I met her 😅 Make sure you subscribe, I'll be posting all of my sessions with her from now on so stay tuned
@@Nathan_BriTT I'm already subscribed. Good luck and i'm looking forward for more videos.
@@Nathan_BriTT this content is invaluable... This kind of stuff is the best stuff on TH-cam
@@NoorKhanNY thank you so much I really appreciate that feedback 🙏🏻 Happy to have you on the channel man!
This is a good coach, I think she's trying to teach you things she thinks you can handle. That being said, you totally can counter-loop a slow loop not off the bounce, that's a perfectly legitimate shot. She basically was just teaching you how to active block a spinny-ball towards the end, which is great, but please do know there are other options, including the one you suggested at the beginning! Also for your push, you need to relax your grip on you thumb and forefinger, so you can add wrist action to the push, which will make it much heavier. The way your push is now, it's going to be limited in how heavy you can chop it b/c you don't use your wrist at all. Apologies for the unsolicited advice.
Such a good trainer tbh, I wish I had someone to teach me like that
She's so insightful and explains things so simply. I'm really lucky to have met her, and that's why I'm going to be posting all of our lessons together from now on. Make sure you subscribe so you can see more from her and thanks for stopping by the channel 😎🏓👍🏻
You can always get a private coach but they are expensive
Rather clickbaity titles but I get it. Valuable content nonetheless, keep it up!
Gotta get the people here somehow 😈 Thanks for the comment and thanks for stopping by! Really helps the channel 🏓
Nice video! I struggle with similar things so this is good for me to watch.
I think one thing i noticed is you step really good in with your right leg on the push, but then you pause for a second before stepping out with the right leg. I think if you can be quicker pushing off after you push it will give you a lot more time for the counter, my coach tells me I have the same problem 😂
Bet thanks for the heads up 😎🏓 And thanks for stopping by the channel!
Heavy push always gotta be right off the bounce. I learned that in my brief stent of trying to learn jpen. There's a great Ryu Seung Min video where he talks about that. The longer its away from the bounce the more spin is lost, so if you get it right off the bounce you retain that spin. Also the best way to understand the slow loop counter is another penholder, Ma Lin. Again, you want to retain the spin. His counters are so powerful without much effort because he stays close and just puts all the power from the spin in the loop right back into the ball.
Thanks for sharing! 🤗 Love u! ❤
No problem, love you too! 🩵
We call it.. "Hunt The Ball"
U go after the ball, instead of waiting for it to come to u
How much does it cost to take lessons with her?
Lessons at our club are around $60/hr 😇
I love that first edit 😂😂
Lol she always roasts me 😂

Great content these two videos
Thanks so much! Keep an eye out I've got more coming on the channel 😎🏓
Awesome 🙌 thanks for sharing this gold. My coach gave me one more tips… while returning the loop with block (backhand), add a tiny spring bounce in both the knees… that increases the return speed multifold… don’t know how, but it works for me.
I'll make sure to try that out! Thanks for stopping by the channel, the comment really helps 🙏🏻🏓
Good job. Thanks for the the video
thanks for another great tip. The next time I am near you guys, I definitely will take some lessons.
