Aap apne main editing PC ko hi NAS bana sakte ho, ek HBA card and 2 8TB hard disk lagega jisse RAID Z1 setup ho jayega. Baad me jab aur storage ki zarurat hogi, aur hard drives add kar sakte hai. Bas each additional hard disk must be maximum of initial drives (8TB).
Isse system normally use bhi hogi, and baki devices ke liye NAS bhi ban jayegi.

I have been wondering about which storage drive to buy. I am extremely behind the technology and this video helps
I do have some questions though if you dont mind helping. I mostly work on a laptop and I have very high data storage needs. Like a whole channel worth of stream and other stuff. I have smaller HDDs that I can carry around but I need one big data storage
Which one should I go for?
I am personally favoring for External HDD, for its price I can find good deals in terms of space, like 10-16 TB have less difference in price than what I would get for buying individual 2-4 TB drives. I was however warned about the longevity of it. I dont want to store things for like 3-4 years and keep making a huge investment regularly to buy new ones or risk loss of data
I was suggested SDD too, but while they last longer (from what I was told) they need to be read regularly or they risk data loss too, not to mention its much costlier than HDD, I would get much less space for same price.
I was suggested cloud storage too, but that has myriad of issues too. The company you choose might go through some major policy changes or simply go under and shut down, or use your data unethically. Though biggest issue would be that you need net access for it
I was also told about NAS drive, like it would make sharing things easier too. However, I have no idea what the hell it is and its not a popular option
