Terrific Vaughan, I can just picture all your fish in your dreams chasing after you saying: "more! more! we need more cousins to swim with us". The chattering really adds to the sugar jars and the plates. Thanks for another great breakfast video. Cheers...Freddie
Thanks again Freddie. The sugar creamer video was taken down, I had a Pinky and Perky sound track. I will re post this weekend . We are looking at a high of -16c on Saturday, -22c at night. The first cold snap of the winter. Can't complain at that.
It amazes me how many different pieces you do and do so well! I'm so very grateful for you sharing your talents with us and the world! I so look forward to watching.
@@Vsmithpots Oh for sure Vaughan and going to use the sponge glazing technique on Monday, tomorrow. Already use a few of your tips and tricks which work fabulous. Using the ferrule on the paintbrush to blend in clay and putting that small piece of clay into inside handle area I do all the time now. You're a gifted teacher! 😁👍
Beautiful showing. I created my first fish last night using the guidance you provided. I was able to remove the paper immediately and let it dry on a canvas covered table. Your generous sharing of knowledge is much appreciated.
Nice bonus footage to see your kiln openings 🤗. I used a slow cool firing on my last firing - first time. My glazes have never looked better. ∆6 with a 45 minute hold at 1750° . I don't fire often and was a bit intimated to program a slow cool, but I'm so glad I did it.
1st Congratulations Vaughan on your Geneva order!! I saw that on Facebook. So cool. 2nd loved this sponging demo I’m gonna try on my chattered bowls. Maine weather is similar mild then cold!! Be well.
Very exciting to have your international order to Geneva - Congratulations! Your fish are wonderful, and the plates turned out so well. I was just asking myself how you could get the clean edge between the centre and the rim, when you answered my question - sponging the rim. It's very effective 🙂!
I the last video I watched, you were using a small wodden roller with a wooden handle to bevel the edges of your “kiln fillers”. You said you didn’t know what it was originally for. Well, that is an object I am very cumulative with. It is a wallpaper seam roller that is used to make the edges of the paper stick ti the wall an be a match the edges together. However, like you I tend to use any tool that will accomplish a the task at hand. I have enjoyed your video’s so very much! Thank you for doing this for all of us. 🥰
Wow absolutely stunning. I live in Canberra Australia and am researching my environment for the natural flora and fauna. I'll have to search the coast and waterways now for fish species in my region. As I would like to use the natural environment for inspiration, as you have done.
Beautiful! do you make your own glazes? I am thinking about buying one book with recipes of cone 6 glazes. If you have some recomendations, would be greatly appreciated.
I have always assumed after about 600F. Before that it is mostly organic matter burning off. That is why I do my firings over night and preheat to 200F .
@@Vsmithpots thankyou! I was planning to start mine of an evening then go off to bed. I've only done the initial firing in mine to treat the new elements. I love your work too and your video's are such a joy to watch. Thankyou

Thanks Susan, I hope they get there, Switzerland seems so far away.
I LOVE your fish! Glazing the entire fish with sponges 👍👍👍👍!
I save my Folgers containers too.... I use them for everything.
I bet they serve better coffee in Geneva.
Thank for sharing and it's absolutely beautiful there with the snow.

Thanks I got lots of comments saying that. I love going around a hardware store looking for tools.

Thanks, looking for local inspiration will make for a happy time.
Espetaculaarrr!!!😍👏👏👏👍👍👍
Love that matte turquoise!
Susch a beautiful paysage serounding you !
Can you use gold leaf in the glazes or under a clear glaze?
Love the plates and other dishes. Where did you find the advancer shelves?
Bailey Pottery in NY.

Mastering Cone 6 Glazes by Hesselworth
What was the Copper-Bronze glaze you used?
What is the best way to attach them to something? Screws? I worry about cracking the pottery.
I might use a rubber washer along with a screw, just my opinion. I love those fish and the variations.
As below but just screws.
So beautiful...
👍
Hi I can hear your kiln warming up in the background. I was wondering if you know at what temp they start giving off fumes.. Thank

You do not have much to slow down the wind where you live.
The wind cracked my gallery windows twice now.
