    I've got the HW97K in .22 and love it... I've taken a good 12 squirrels from my yard with it. Even the body shots take them right out. Great gun. Finally found my last springer.

    Hi Dave, I`ve been shooting the HW 97 K .177 using JSB Exact Express 7.87g, 4.52 , what a combination that is, - extremely accurate and hard hitting. Great shooting as per again mate .

    Yes, I DID enjoy your springer session. Guys like you and the Irish bloke who hunt with the nice PCPs make it look easy. Hell, maybe it IS easy, and that's why you figure you could use a challenge and give them a BIT more of a chance.

    Some good kills their Dave,got rid of my pcp,s,and got myself a little HW99s,that started life as a sfs imp,but the previous owner,or someone else,had been having a mess about with it,and it twanged.So sent it to Dave Price for one of his tune ups,and the accuracy of this little springer is fantastic,up their with any of my pcp,s...Enjoyed the video,just goes to show what a sringer can do in the field...

    Hello Dave. Thankyou for your footage and advice, great read! I've just begun shooting with the same rifle but have a lot to learn. You recommended an 8.4 grain pellet which are fairly difficult to source on the internet. Are they twice as heavy as a 4 grain pellet? At thirty to forty yards, do you aim above the crows in view of pellet trajectory? Any advice would be fantastic. Thank you, Ian.

    I picked up the hw97kt blackline yesterday. Waiting for my scope to arrive monday for it (nikko sterling 4.5-14x50 AO IR £109.99). Never had or fired an air rifle, the gun is second hand in nice condition, been tuned apparently too, came with cheap 6-24x50 scope and gunbag for £200 off a mate. Feels heavy and solid, will enjoy getting used to holding and shooting it. It is strictly for target shooting for me, I haven't got the heart to kill birds lol.

    just one question from a novice..anyone feel free to reply but today i got insured with the basa and got permission..built a nice hide with a 3d ghillie suit..sat from the hours of 10.30-maybe2pm..not a bird in sight. This is the 1st october. The site i use is usually full of crows n all sorts with nests on display. My question is advice. Did i go out at the wrong time (is dawn/dusk better) and i have 2 decoys ordered off ebay and next time il sling a load of bread near them too but today as a disaster. Didnt see a single bird! Lovely gun, beautiful gun,..But I would be concerned about the shiny stainless steel fittings. I thought Crow's can see a bright penny at a thousand meters ; doesn't this make it a tad difficult to shoot crows when you''re out in the field?
    Obviously not, here on this video, you've had a great day shooting!

      you have to polish all the internals of the gun to a mirror finish piston .piston sleave in and out ends of the spring all the triger sears too makes a massive diffrence!!!

      Hi John, thanks mate,its really settled in well, finding the pellet it likes eating was an easy task also, i keep telling folks , take advice on pellets to use but dont bet your house on another mans advice,its worth spending out for a few brands and then spending a few hours to find your guns pellet diet, it increases your shooting potential no end, you confidence will grow like jolly green giants sweetcorn,atvb Dave

    • @pappywith4
      @pappywith4 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      I believe that on the right pellets for sure! My hatsan 125 vortex sniper best pellet is H&N Barracuda Match but Crossman a close second! I mean close like the H& N shoots a .25" group @ 30 yds but the Crossman shoots a .50" 3 shot group at 30 yds so I use the crossmans for everyday use and for hunting rabbits I will take out the H&N ! All I have to do is run chairgun for the different settings

    How do you dispose of the crows. Also how is it legal to shoot the crows?

    • @MrDAVERATZ
      @MrDAVERATZ  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi ,as this is a feed yard the crows get burnt , the crows are shot to protect food stock as thy raid the grain stores and bins , mainly for health & safety reasons , atb Dave

      @@Elfin4 Hi bud , no harm in asking questions , have a look at the BASC Sight , it gives you a list of what and when you can shoot , but you must have a valid reason and permission , try other means to deter them also , most folks think its vermin shoot it , you must try other methods 1st , then all else fails shoot the buggers , good luck and never be afraid to ask , atb Dave

      @@MrDAVERATZ Thanks for helping to explain. Like I said and Im a newbie just trying to get my head around all the shooting requirements in the UK. Once I save up some pennies Im going to get an FAC cert and air rifle. Hopefully it will be acceptable to the Police to say on the forms that I am looking to use on a range and for hunting even without any permissions being secured. My plan is to get proficient on the range first at different ranges and understand the gun and scope holdovers etc. before I even attempt any pest shooting. Don't want to injure any animals unnecessary , so would want to be happy on the range first.
