It's my day off and I am lingering over my morning coffee, enjoying some lovely music...this is so beautiful, Andy. All of the wistfullness and sensitivity of the original is shining through. Aside from Jim & Maury, I do not think I have ever heard it done better, by anyone..
You did a great job Andrew..brilliant work for this emotional love song..not easy song to play indeed..YES,you gave and show the feelings of what song is about..greetings from Iraq. Mostafa
STANDING OVATION - Wow! I'm a little speechless...and very impressed. You got the Dm walk and the key change in there in your own style, They're critical to the song IMHO. I've heard very few Croce covers that I liked when the artist improvises his own style into Jims music, But this is really good Andy! Your extremely close to the patterns that Jim used and infused a couple of Maurys' licks in there too, and yet it sounds like you. Your way of singing nails the feeling of the song perfectly.
Thanks for that Bri!... I had to do this so many times (or redo I should say) and I was nervous cause I knew you were watching. I went back after and watched Jim's video on this, and I said to myself "I'm not even close" it's missing so much, but like I think, like you said, my version captures the feeling... and that is so much my hope! Thanks again my friend!
I came looking for this one tonight, and now I am wondering...how is it possible I didn't leave you a comment for this one, Andy?? One of my very favorite Croce songs, and you've added your own very special touch...makes me love it even more. Just beautifully done, beautifully recorded.
i love it. but the worst thing is to know it, to understand and to love it but having the lack of talent ever to play it like you. it comes more than close to the original. thank you.
Tannis.. I wish I could tell you ... (that sounds like a song title!) at :11 it's sort of a transition between Bb i think and Gm... not sure.. at 4;11.. just a dminor.. but there are some crazy overtones going on at the time...
Andy!! You are sharing with us something really special here, Eh! I could feel Jim here!! WOW! Stunning... For curiosity sake, what are you playing at the time 0:11/4:11? This caught my eye! :)) Beautiful One! God Bless Everyone, Love Tannis
loved it! do you every time make songs singly or oftentimes you do music in conjunction with more musicians?? by the way; I some times do play piano and toy on music jams with Bandhub, it'd be great to double up at bandhub x)
By far the best cover of the song on the Tube... Soft, placid, deep, free, and - above all - REAL!
Marvelous rendition.
