Just came back from a local screening of the movie. The theatre was packed and there was non stop laughter. I was pleasantly surprised. The cast was fantastic (and yes, the guys were hot including Daniel Dae Kim looking good as always)!
Daniel Dae Kim is aging like fine wine and boy am I thirsty! Lolol. Seriously though, he did a fantastic job of playing the lead character's stepdad and helping her find closure after the birth mom passed. A wild movie and great for a night out with the girls.

I’m not East Asian I’m black but I grew up in a town where no one looked like me and I just burst into tears at the part where they met as little girls. Because I imagined how much easier it would have been if I had a bestie who looked like me. Every time I watch one of the new Disney movies with Black princesses I cry. I grew up without seeing any representation or being like anyone around me. I didn’t even realize I how deeply it affected me but all these unexpected emotions even as a grown up- and I’m sure I’m not the only one having them- just show how much REPRESENTATION MATTERS. I’m so so happy to see all people of colour getting the representation they deserve. And also this looks like it’s gonna be HILARIOUS and I can’t wait to see it 😁.
There's a black girl that was born and grew up in Thailand because her family from Africa was doing jewelry business there. She was teased a lot growing up but her dad taught her to let it go and not let that bother her. She says now people are much better than before and more respectful. Times change things change. The thing is if kids like her want to see people like themselves represented in Thailand it's quite impossible.
its a damn movie stop worrying about race and representation. Im sure youd care if a movie about MLk jr was portrayed by a Chinese guy or better yet a white guy.
It be awesome that at the end of the movie the message is where you come from is not about race or nationality, but about the people that love you and raised you, and raised with you. All that other stuff is just extra.
