i suspect it will only get bigger. I could easily see them buying the lakes, an the warehouses. But first they need to get those houses on Manor bought up.
@@MrRailjunkie getting a plane to London will drastically shorten the length of time it takes to get there. It would take me over eight hours, so definitely would rather not have so much time travelling as not going to arrive in the best frame of mind if I did.
I wonder how much of an issue those houses in the middle will end up being? I can’t blame them if they’re hesitant or even seek a large buyout. I’d personally love to live in the middle of a theme park but it’s a big ask for others.
If it was my house I would be 100% staying. I don’t mind living right next to your theme park. I’ll accept free pass whenever I like as compensation for the disturbance!
Hope they consider building a huge rooftop to encourage more folk to visit even during bad weather. Edit: To everyone suggesting UK branded rides, beyond a James Bond themed stunt show I seriously doubt they’ll change their winning formula they use for every single resort. They could do quite a bit just with James Bond alone though, definitely more than enough to win over the general public for embracing our secret agent over a lesser American copy that hasn’t been relevant in awhile. Harry Potter is way more popular than LOTR and it’s set in the UK so would be weird not to have that here. Expect to see mostly the same things you would in the other resorts, with exception to older rides. They already have a ton a major blockbuster titles they can use to pad out the land.
They need to get you both on their planning team, you'd be great! :D I wonder when we'll hear about confirmation, if it goes ahead I can't wait to hear what ideas they have in store for theming too. This was a really well put together video, and shows just how huge this could be. I'm not sure the residents in the housing between the two areas of land will be feeling as excited though, and I wonder if they will have to be purchased to allow the park to work between the two sites.
There is a small airport nearby so they are limited somewhat. I feel that line between bedford and st pancras will get the station as the marston vale line doesn’t really connect without reversing at Bedford or Bletchley coming from Milton Keynes direction.
That train line barely gets used. I've stopped my car at the signals at Kempston Hardwick and its usually just one carriage going past. The main line between Bedford and St Pancras would need a new station at the site.
What some dont realise is we also have Cardington in Bedford which a lot of major movies are made, ie batmans various ones, james bond, justice league, fantastic beasts, justice league & so on.
The train line which includes kempston hardwick is actually really busy. The line has just reopened a few weeks back with new trains and it’s packed in the morning and early evenings as the kids who live locally near the various stations on this line go to the private schools and universities in Bedford. People like to moan but I wouldn’t rule this out in the longer term plus it’s been announced today that yet more major roadworks are starting on the m1 from Luton to Bedford for the next 12 mths so somethings brewing.
I would be Interested to know what the residents think and how they will be supported. However, I'm certainly not against the idea. Many people can only dream of going to Florida, so for a resort to be developed here would be awesome. And, competitively, it should give other companies (not looking anyone in particular *cough* Merlin *cough* ) A kick up the previable bum to smarten up some of their more tired looking parks. Boosts to tourism and jobs is always good.
This is an absolutely amazing announcement form Universal, that they've spent the cash and bought the land and it would really benefit the UK if it goes ahead. The only downside for me is the travel distance/time - I live in Devon but a good idea for a few days away maybe 😁
What you on about, the alternative is a even greater distance so this is much closer and more affordable in comparison. I live in Scotland and would happily travel.

It will have to be mostly an indoor park obviously because of the British weather. But they've done it before, and Universal are going from strength to strength. Rumours are they could be looking at areas such as 007 and Lord of the Rings. Their sites in Florida are amazing, and I really hope they come to our country.
It doesn’t necessarily need to be a mostly indoor park. Bedford has similar weather to Paris and Disneyland Paris isn’t mostly indoor and stays open all year. Same goes for many other European parks. Orlando actually gets more rainfall than Bedford does, though obviously it’s a lot warmer in Orlando so the rain doesn’t seem as bad.
They would want it to be an all year round resort, and most theme parks with big outdoor attractions close in the winter months over here. Disneyland Paris doesn't have as many of these big rides, so many of their attractions can stay open or are indoor attractions. Universal will get the balance just right, they definitely know what they are doing. I can see more dark rides and indoor attractions than Florida, many different themes than Orlando, and it will definitely be an all year round resort.
@@dmitchy4904 Thorpe Park and Alton Towers close in the winter months for the weather and maintenance. Universal will want an all year round resort. They'll get the balance spot on.
@dmitchy4904 at present not a single park in the UK is open all year round this is due in the main to weather, you are correct it doesn't need to be indoor but if its not it's would see a much reduced ride offering in the winter
I have positive thoughts about this coming in the future. It'll be very interesting to see the competition between other parks like thorpe park, alton towers and many more. It's also good to know that there are motorways and transportation linking up to the resort from big cites, especially London and Birmingham. I'm hyped 🤗🤗😲😲

Hopefully so 🤩
I'm so hyped for this ever since it was announced recently, I've always wanted to go to Universal Studios(specifically for the Jurassic Park/World section and Halloween Horror Nights as im a dino and horror nerd😅) so hearing and seeing this has made my day, thanks you guys🤩
(Edit-typo)
It’s such an exciting project!
That's going to be great for the local residents. Noise, more people, more traffic. Good luck trying to sell a house in the area once this gets built
I can see it actually increasing property value due to demand for accommodation and houses nearby
@@ThemeParkWorldwide Depends on the buyer I guess. If you don't have a young child, can't see you buying around here.
More jobs for local people.
AirBnB opportunity will be an infinite money glitch@@DBProductions12345-m
Finally some good news. I really hope this project happens. It will be great to see a major new park open in Britain Keep the updates coming & keep up the great work.
Let’s hope so!
Great video Shawn . That's a large plot of land. It's going to improve the area a lot and exciting times ahead. It's going to be epic when it eventually comes to Bedford.
i suspect it will only get bigger. I could easily see them buying the lakes, an the warehouses. But first they need to get those houses on Manor bought up.
This is awesome, can’t wait, exciting times ahead if it’s going to be anything like Universal Orlando.
Excellent video, love the drone shots! excited to see what’s to come👍
Thank you!
I'm so Psyched for this as if Universal GB open in 5 weeks, except we have to wait 5 years 😭😭😭
It's so exciting to get a place like universal in the UK, wonder what they are gonna have there
My guess is…the same stuff as every other Universal Studios Resort…crazy I know!
@@ObsessiveGeekyh probablys Gonna be a generic model of it
Hopefully some awesome coasters worth a 6 or 7 hour journey from Cornwall where I live.
I heard that efforts have been made to buy them out
I’d suspect there’d be a buyout situation if that’s possible. Paying way over the asking price.
Would love this to be built, has great transport access and not forgetting Centre parks is just up the road👍👍
If it was my house I would be 100% staying. I don’t mind living right next to your theme park. I’ll accept free pass whenever I like as compensation for the disturbance!
@@ObsessiveGeek what if it was between you moving or the park not opening?
Great video as per usual shawn shout to the theme park worldwide drone making it appearance
Would love to be a fly on the wall at other big UK parks right now, wonder what their thoughts are. Looking forward to following this with you guys, thanks again for all you do x
Exciting although I did just spend 8 minutes looking at an empty field 😆
Omg!!! Thats so exciting!!! 😍🇬🇧🎢💖
I really hope this is going to happen I don’t think I’ve been this excited for something in the uk before, I’m keeping my fingers crossed and defiantly can’t wait for the updates! ❤
Great video as always Shawn and Charlotte. I think that’s the perfect area for Universal Studios Great Britain 🇬🇧🌍🎢
It really is 👌
@@ThemeParksAndAttractions yep 👍🏻
this is also where the gallimimus were in jurassic world dominion
it would be exciting if it was also a working film/TV studio and visitors truly got to see behind the scenes
But Walt Disney studios Paris France at Disneyland Paris France was also a film/tv studio and visitors truly do go see behind the scenes
Loving this type of documentary-style video!
Bedford is so close to me. I hope this goes ahead. Universal in Florida has some fantastic rides.
I am sooooo excited about this project and I think universal should get the public involved in the build… cos one thing us Brits aren’t famous for is respecting things, so getting the public involved would probably be wise because we’ll respect it more and look after it!
It’s very exciting!
@@ThemeParkWorldwide of course I can’t see it being better than the one in the USA but they might just surprise us and make a UK theme park better than America… for once!
This is awesome news I’m hopeful that we’ll have a brand new famous branded theme park Universal start their foundations in place for this epic new park, this park will definately have a positive impact on boosting large tourism opportunities to come explore our very own British universal studios, I can’t wait to see the construction site gets underway with the ball rolling, I’m totally super super excited intrigued Thanks 😊 for sharing these updates great update vlog Shawn and Charlotte 👍👍👍
Wow! This is huge for our country! Can't wait to see construction start, about time we had something like this. 👍😁
Very exciting times!
This was a really well put together video, and shows just how huge this could be. I'm not sure the residents in the housing between the two areas of land will be feeling as excited though, and I wonder if they will have to be purchased to allow the park to work between the two sites.
They were already offering money for our houses through a 3rd party before the news broke
As a Kempston resident, im looking foward to seeing what happens x
What some dont realise is we also have Cardington in Bedford which a lot of major movies are made, ie batmans various ones, james bond, justice league, fantastic beasts, justice league & so on.
All I'd ask of them is to build everything indoors 🤣🌧
i agree. lol
It will definitely feature indoor areas if it goes ahead
I remember going on the E.T adventure ride at Universal Orlando in 1989, that was indoors. And the Alfred Hitchcock tour
I used to be the only kid who got on and off at Kempston Hardwick 😂 Was defo packed at school times from the other stations on the route though
What about would be magic kingdom in United Kingdom
I would be Interested to know what the residents think and how they will be supported. However, I'm certainly not against the idea. Many people can only dream of going to Florida, so for a resort to be developed here would be awesome. And, competitively, it should give other companies (not looking anyone in particular *cough* Merlin *cough* ) A kick up the previable bum to smarten up some of their more tired looking parks. Boosts to tourism and jobs is always good.
I would love to see a Nintendo World there if this project goes ahead.
This is what I needed Shawn standing in a field
Great way to start the year 😂
Just don’t see how they will get any clearance for building height on the area. Also that village will not want it on their doorstep!
Cool video 👍👍👍 nice
This is an absolutely amazing announcement form Universal, that they've spent the cash and bought the land and it would really benefit the UK if it goes ahead. The only downside for me is the travel distance/time - I live in Devon but a good idea for a few days away maybe 😁
What you on about, the alternative is a even greater distance so this is much closer and more affordable in comparison.
I live in Scotland and would happily travel.
Devon to Bedford is a lot shorter than Devon to Florida.
@@acurisur Imagine having to explain that to someone 😂
I can almost see a Bates Motel being there, good forward thinking for a video.
7:28 If anyone is interested, my friend @Texney has been uploading update videos of the Universal Kids Resort construction in Texas. The drone footage isn’t as nice as Theme Park Worldwide however.
Fantastic for the UK and employment in the local area. Lets hope they are ready to plan for a cold and wet park, plenty of cover please :D
Euro Disney is often wet and cold!
So exciting
Great content shawn. Surely now universal have bought the land it must happen, and at over 4 times the size of the other parks just shows thier commitment in this plan .
Hopefully so!
Flipping awesome.👍🏻👍🏻
Domain name registration is already stated that universal studios is coming to germany
Omg Shawn I can't wait I have always wanted to do Disney in America but never had the money I did euro Disney when it opened but I am so excited fir this thank-you for this you have made my day see you on your next one my love xx
I hope this will gets built. Many European themepark lovers, go to Florida for Universal Orlando. And now we get in Europe. I can not wait untill the construction is going on, on the site.
Wow! Really get a sense of scale on the amount of land available.
It’s a huge area!
Looks like you're going to get a world class theme park in your back yard ... maybe dreams do come true Shawn!
It would be amazing if so!
Ooh so exciting ❤🎉
well done sean you have built this channel and i have followed you and charlotte all the way i wish you all the success yo deserve keep up the good work
Thank you so much
And I live about 5 mins away in Bedford town centre . Massive bit of land at the back of Marston moreteyne. Hangers just up the road where the studios are. In cardington I work for the post office was saying to people at work about how big the land is as I plotting houses near by.
Really cool and informative video! Let's keep our fingers crossed!
Thank you
It will have to be mostly an indoor park obviously because of the British weather.
But they've done it before, and Universal are going from strength to strength.
Rumours are they could be looking at areas such as 007 and Lord of the Rings. Their sites in Florida are amazing, and I really hope they come to our country.
it wouldn’t need to be mostly indoors if alton towers and thorpe park can work outside so can universal
Fantastic content. Great job!
Thank you
Rumour is it will be similar to Epic Universe. They’ve also purchased some houses at well over market value already.
I live very close and will be covering this project in detail on my TH-cam channel if and when construction starts.
We have to be careful not to annoy the residents of the area by bombarding them with people visiting the site and flying drones over the site
If that doesn't annoy them, I'm sure years of Plant equipment and construction will...
As it’s a very interesting and large project, I’m sure the area has already had a huge amount of attention!
Too late! 😂
have the locals said anthing yet 😮. great video as always shawn 😄
Cant wait for further updates cant wait for it
God the UK needs this so badly. AT and Thorpe need competition and to up their game . I think it will happen since they bought the building company too
