I love watching his posture, while he talks and sings, Gordon Lightfoot, is just a person, like you and i. His music resonates melancholy, for me, every time. Thank you!
Back in the day, my cousin worked on Tommy Hunter Show. She was in set design but on this particular occasion they dragged her into the control booth, told her to flick a knob on the console every so often to give it a vintage feel and to make sure no one would want to steal the performance if, in the distant future, someone decided to create a file sharing platform.
Thanks so much for posting...two true Canadian treasures, doesn't get much better than this...
You couldn't have paid me to watch this back in the day, but here I am watching and thinking how lucky I am to see it.

Thank you from The USA for posting this.
I remember VCR tracking issues. Rest in peace, Gordon.

Great Gord Song!! Don’t let the bad audio or video be distraction
Note that live performances are always different and unique!!
I'm having a stroke from the flashing. RIP Gordon and Tommy
This is great! What year was this. A Gordon Lightfoot fan from the USA wants to know. RIP Gordon my friend.
1981
Going by his bio book this was his worst drinking period 1981. He was drinking heavily. He cleaned up the following year and lost 25 pounds.
Ed that was a nice li'l wink at the end of your lick there! This looks like the onset of the 'rotund Gord' era.
When was this televised? I'm trying to figure out how old Gordon is in the video.
1981
Did you dig that VRC player out of the landfill? What a mess
Check your end, maybe you're losing some electrons.
@@jimm3213 🤣
@@jimm3213 You are correct, it’s great to watch the video even if the quality isn’t quite up to snuff!
Gordon thanks for the memories!
Take me drunk, I'm home.
Sound quality not so good
Gordon Lightfoot ist zwar "groß" aber nicht als Körperlänge. Das sehe ich heute das erste Mal.
