I can't begin to tell you how beautiful I think those potholders are in ALL the colors you made. They are GORGEOUS!! The colors you use in your items inspires to crochet, crochet, crochet!! I just want to make all kinds of things in those colors. I am already up to the second puffs in my Spice of Life blanket ... I just love working on it. I already know that I am making blankets for my son, his girlfriend and my sister (or maybe some of those potholders for her to put on her wall) for Christmas this year. So, I'm hoping you WILL put out a pattern for those. Oh I wish I could convey how inspired I am by the things you make. And I LOVE your daughter's bunny and fox. They are ADORABLE!
Hello from south India, I think everything about your podcast is wonderful, your beautiful crochet work, the garden outside, oh,just about everything! ❤
Oh hello! Lovely to have you here. I don’t think I’ve had a comment from India before. Not knowingly at least. ☺️. Thanks so much for such kind words. ❤️
Yes, us Yankees would call it a vest. A tank top would be a light weight cotton or other summer weight fabric. I see lots of vest patterns. They’re not as popular here. Maybe because if it’s cold enough for a knit vest, you just go with a sweater (a.k.a. Jumper)! I have seen your podcast listed on TH-cam, but thought it was just knitting. I decided to explore wnen I realized the thumbnail photo was of a beautiful hexigon afghan. It was your Roses afghan! Goodness, you’re wonderful flowers and intricate work reminds me of Jane Crow. I never enjoyed making flowers because the work is usually so detailed and using small hooks with thin yarn. Unfortunately, I have severe arthritis, so it limits me on what I can do. I liked & subd. The hexagons are so lovely, you could put them under glass and hang them up.
Hi Laurel, it’s lovely to have you here! Thanks for subbing too. Isn’t it funny all these little language differences on either side of the Atlantic? Interesting that a vest is more of a summer item for you guys, good to know. I know exactly what you mean, if it’s that good why not knit the sleeves too? Ha ha I guess we just love to layer! ☺️🤣❤️
I tried to teach my daughter crochet & knitting through the years and she never really stuck with it. All the sudden about a year ago she picked up crochet again. She has now made numerous sweaters and projects, including making things without patterns. It just blows my mind. This weekend she is co-teaching a crochet class with me at our LYS, it will be a special day.
OMG! Every time I watch another podcast, I’m blown away by your stunning work. Your pastel Cath Kidson squares were just gorgeous…….I was totally drooling! I’m not surprised that you are so proud of your daughter making things from crochet. Her makes were just wonderful. Obviously inherited your talents. Fingers crossed that she continues.
Such beautiful flowers in the hexagons, each time you show them in a new colour they are more beautiful than the last. I love how your face lit up talking about your daughter 😍 her makes are brilliant. My mum tried to teach me to knit so many times and I could never get the hang of it even though I really wanted to. Then I sat down and watched some videos and it finally clicked, I'm 34 now and we sit in the evening knitting together x
Oh Sandra, It is a beautiful sight to how proud and excited you are as a Maker Mom. How exciting for both of you that this lovely tradition continues.....Hugs!
I always enjoy your podcasts Sandra, and this one was no exception. You are so talented, and it sure looks like your darling daughter is following in your footsteps with her crocheting. I love everything you both made in this blog. Take care, and big hugs from Jenny ❤
All of your items are so beautiful! Your daughter is so talented. I know how proud of you are of her. I think that is wonderful. She did so good! Happy belated birthday! Take care and happy crocheting. ❤️
Wow! How well has your daughter done. Just amazing progress to have made the fox and outfit. I know the feeling of being proud. My daughter needed to learn a skill for her Duke of Edinburgh and she has finally ‘got it’ with crochet too. So lovely to pass the skill on to the next generation 😊.
The flower garden blocks are so lovely. I'd have to keep after it or I'd never finish it. lol Really love the potholders! I have vintage potholders and some I've made hanging on the walls in my kitchen, just down from the top (like they use to hang wall paper borders). Your daughter has done a fabulous job! . It is such a joy when your children show interest in your hobbies. My girls come and go with crochet too and now our eldest has branched out into cross stitch so we have another craft to talk about and share. Love the fox! Our youngest daughter's second project was amigurumi (at 8 yrs.old) a turtle the size of a coin, they were tears involved with that one, somehow we managed it. lol She now makes lots of blankets, mainly for gifts. Always a pleasure, have a great day.
In the early seventies, the crocheted motif vests were all the rage and I made myself two or three and wore them while teaching and also in summer school. Loved them. Learned out of a book to crochet, a stitch every few days at night after work, just to crochet these vests. So cool to hear that your daughter made herself one. Such creativity! As always I love your podcast and all the things you make. You get me going down many a crafty rabbit hole. Take care and I hope your health issues are being resolved.
So thrilled to see that your daughter is crocheting. I have taught my granddaughters. One loves making amigurumi. The other makes lots of different kinds of gifts. I love what your daughter made. Both them are really cute. Your shawl is lovely. I am finishing a sweater made with the Debby Bliss cashmerino you talk about. It is so soft and wonderful to crochet with. Hope all is well with you.😊
Another gorgeous podcast from you Sandra. Love the crochet doilies. So heartwarming that your beautiful daughter is doing some crochet too and I just love the 2 things she made, she did such a good job. I can see you are so proud of her as you should be. So nice!
Fabulous makes as always, your wrap would make a lovely gift with a nice shawl pin or brooch. Love your gifts and your daughters makes are wonderful ❤️
Lovely to see the finished advent project with the Beehive yarns. I got the same set and it was so delightful to work with. I made a crochet shawl and I love it
The colours of the potholders are simply gorgeous! I think they would look lovely on the wall. I am so happy that your daughter has taken an interest in crochet. Neither of my daughters, who are now 28 & 30, took any interest in yarn crafts. 😓
Enjoyed your podcast. I don't knit but I appreciate it very much. The anemone squares are so pretty. And your daughter's fox is also so cute. I think I want to do an anemone blanket even though I have a hard time joining the squares together. Thank you. Have a beautiful day.
The fox your daughter made is beautiful. Here in America we have Grey Foxes also. Also, her lovey is precious. Your granny squares are beautiful. I love the squares that look like potholders that you can decorate your kitchen or dining room. Would love to get the pattern if you decide to make one. I hope your friend Betsy snd her children are doing well. I missed her and wondered if she was still podcasting. Happy Valentine's Day.to you and yours.
Oh, wow. All of your crocheted Painted Anemones are absolutely stunning! I loved the first four with Kath Kidston colorways, and then you began showing all of you other color combinations, and I’m in love. I agree that that a cluster of them hung on the wall would be lovely. I would probably add a stabilization backing to keep it from curling or sagging over time. I may need to make some as I am nearing the end of my current crochet blanket project. I also have the Polsden Wrap pattern and yarn ready to cast on. Mine will also probably end up being a gift. I make things often just because I want to make it, and tuck it away in my gift drawers in my craft room until the right occasion comes along to present it as a gift. Yes, in America, we call that style of garment a vest. They are not extremely popular here anymore, other than with older men. They were more popular in the 80’s and early 90’s, not to say they are never worn here, I just seem to see it more across the pond.
I didn’t realize vests are popular again but am seeing them everywhere in every length and fitting. I usually don’t find them to my style but I’ve run across some interesting non traditional patterns…more of a vest/tunic hybrids which might entice me to add one to my queue. 😀. Your choice of afghan colors and patterns always inspire me. 💖 How lovely to see your daughter’s work. Her tension is so even! 💖 Thanks for another informative and entertaining post. ✨💖✨
I am loving the potholders. Any guidance you can give those of us with the blanket pattern would be greatly appreciated. Your color choice gave a sense of spring, much appreciated in not so spring time NY. I applaud your daughter’s work…great how she jumps right in to a next project, energizing everyone with her ‘go for it’ spirit.
I think you new shawl would make a lovely decorative runner at the foot of you bed. I hope you do make a pattern for the pot holders, they are so pretty and the edge you put on them really is a great finish.
Sandra We trust you and your family are doing well given the poor weather conditions We have seen footage of the high winds and resulting damage in the UK Just lots of snow here🇨🇦 Not unusual for us in winter Blessings
Oh that’s kind of you! Yes we are all doing well thank you. We’ve had some of the high winds here and plenty of wind but over the worst I think and only very slight damage luckily. ❤️
Your daughters crochet is amazing. I love the little bunny she made. I’ve just had a new grandson so that is definitely going to be copied and fortunately I do have that book too. Xxx
Happiest of belated birthdays. M’s crochet is fabulous, the fox is amazing! Isn’t she looking so grown up, E is 17 in two weeks, take good care, love that blanket so beautiful Lou ❤️
So impressed by your daughter's work! I've been trying to get one of my grandchildren to crochet, but no luck so far. Maybe if I show them how well your daughter has done!
Lovely to sit stitching with you chatting away again. I’m so happy for you in your joy at your daughter’s creations. You were beaming ✨ She’s a natural and Wolfie is great. I’ve started my own little channel if you fancy visiting sometime. I chat about cross stitch, crochet, knitting and crafty things. I totally relate to what you said about putting away your quilt pieces and maybe not getting them out again ... agree you need to keep going 😊 Love the colour changes in the blanket, especially the CK inspired one. Im all in favour of you making yourself another one in those colours because you really love it.
Lovely episode, as always. I would use the Polesden wrap in my decor because it came out so beautifully. Somewhere I could look at it - as a valance, table runner, laying across a dresser top.
Hi Sandra ! So happy to see you ! And Bert.... could he be any cuter ????? !!!!!!!!! Sandra, A Happy Birthday - belated - wishing you a Wonderful , HEALTHY and Happy year ahead, Sincerely. Love the Bamboo neutral Pot holders - Just yummy !!!!! And your daughters crochet projects are SOOOOOOOOO SWEET AND GOOD !!!!! She surely takes after her Fabulous Mom !!!! Just terrific ! Good for her ! I hope she DOES continue - what a lovely time spent together crocheting that would be. She is just a darling girl ! Sandra , I Do hope you are feeling and faring better. Hoping that is true, I must say, that haircut is SO becoming on you - just a marvelous style that you wear SO well. So, I hope that you are feeling as grand as your haircut. Take VERY good care of yourself. A BIIIIG HUG from me. xxxx, too ! marcia
How exciting that your daughter is crocheting. I am still hopeful that my daughter or sons will become interested. My daughter does some knitting/crocheting/ sewing but flits from one activities to another with nothing quite sticking.
Hello Sandra and thanks for another fabulous podcast! Beautiful makes as usual ❤️aaand your daughter's makes too, how wonderful !!! You must feel so proud! Love that fox especially, ( first thing i thought was if he was orange / tan colour...it is Basil Brush!) I do hope you had a lovely birthday last month and are keeping well! Blessings from Aus.✨
Simply gorgeous! How thrilling to see such excitement and joy in creating whether they are your own makes or your daughter’s! Your beautiful beaming smile was telling all of us how proud and delighted you are to see her progress! All the anemones are stunning, whatever the palettes and what a clever idea to turn your pattern into pot holders or doilies, a fabulous way to practise and gain confidence for any newbie crocheter! I have some of the Cath Kidston Provence china so that’s going to be perfect for afternoon tea! Still knitting winter hats at the moment, it’s so cold! Sending you warm hugs from North Yorkshire 🤗🧶☕🧦🪵
Found it all in your show notes. Thx, Cherry! I won’t rest til I get this next project lined up. Right now, I’m needlepointing something as a small break from crocheting. I’m getting buried in afghans!
Lovely items! Beautiful colour choices. I would be interested in your potholder pattern and colours if you ended up posting, I think they are gorgeous. Your daughter is very talented. My little girl was watching the podcast with me today and asked if I could also make her the fox stuffy...I don't think I'll pull it off as well as your girl did..amazing how she managed it so nicely...as they say, "apple doesn't fall far from the tree" I hope you enjoy your day-best wishes from Canada (we have no sign of tulips here yet)
Your color combinations are so pretty. Could you please give us the names of the stylecraft colors you used? Your daughter has definitely inherited your talent! She is doing really well really quickly. You must be very proud of her.
I’m so excited about your daughter crocheting with you. She is very talented just like her Mother☺️ I am very interested in your pattern for the painted anemone Doilies and potholders they are beautiful! I would want to use your color choices. I have some scheepjes from crocheting the Blanket pattern. It’s so much fun♥️ thank you so much! Hope you have a lovely weekend☀️🌸
The anemone motifs are lovely. Lovely color combinations. Such nice gifts from Sam. I miss her calm podcasts. 🧶💕🧶. I know it’s so enjoyable that your daughter is crocheting. She’s doing great!
How fun that your daughter has been crocheting! Her projects are great. I love your Anemone projects. Yes, please do the pattern for the potholder ! If you re-do the blanket pattern, you could use the picot row from the potholder, on the border of the motifs and the border of the blanket. That would be so lovely! Then you could do a crochet-along : ) And list both colorways for people to choose from. Don’t you love how generous I am with your time?! LOL
Love your pretty pot holder squares, I do like the idea of them as a fireplace decoration too :) You were just oozing happy pride when you spoke about your daughter and her new found amazing crochet skills! What she has made so far is brilliant, a natural crocheter! Wonder who she gets it from?! 🤔😄xx
Aww lovely ur daughter s crochet so talented just like mum am hoping my granddaughter s want to craft as I had sons think they’re interested but six and ten
Oh my word Sandra those Naturals potholders are soooooo beautiful but so are the Cath Kidston ones. What a dilemma. How do you choose? Yes please do release a pattern for the individual pieces. How special that your daughter has picked up crochet again - it must make your heart zing. She's so talented too. I love her fox 🥰
Honestly, it would be great if you released the pattern for the pot holder and coaster/doily and then proceed with the blanket. Sometimes having little projects is nice to work up and be a break in between those large projects. I do think the squares will make a nice blanket but it is nice that the pattern could be flexible.
The wrap would make a lovely bed or table runner if it was not destined to be worn. I’m currently working on a painted anemones blanket for my sister’s wedding coming in June. Lovely pattern, and a great gift to make for an enjoyable project process.
I have done the Alice Caroline quilt and felt like you did and powered through the sewing together in a few days of almost constant sewing over Christmas! And now I think I'm going to send it to a long-arm quilter to quilt. I kind of love the idea of hand-quilting it and every stitch being hand done, but at the same time I've never hand quilted and I'm terrified of ruining what must be hundreds of hours of hard work.
I am so impressed with what your daughter has made! Way braver (and more patient) than I am 😄 And I would absolutely buy the potholder/wall hanging/ larger motif patter if you do make it. I love that kind of really pretty but fairly quick to make project. Isn’t it the best feeling when you make something and then you’re so inspired by it that it sets off so many other ideas? 🙂 Thank you for a lovely podcast! 😊
Painted Anemones - If you have the extra rounds with a different color, what color would you join them with? I'm very interested in making this blanket and like having the middles the same but am unsure about what yarn to join them. I love all the variations of this pattern!
I just love the painted anemones! I have my stonewashed yarn to make one, but I need to get a few things finished first. For a display/ project board check out Lori Holt here on TH-cam. She makes them in several sizes for quilting projects and has a great tutorial as well.
Thanks so much! The pattern is on my website. Here’s the page for you. ☺️ www.cherryheart.co.uk/2021/09/painted-anemones-blanket.html Or if it’s the potholders you are after, then this page…. www.cherryheart.co.uk/2022/03/painted-anemone-doily-and-potholde.html?m=1
The wolf doll looks like Violets grey hound Mable. I learned to crochet when I was a kid then taught myself to knit 50 yrs later. She has done a super job i would say she is hooked ….pun intended
Oh thank you so much for such a kind and lovely comment. You’ve brought a big smile to my face. So glad you are enjoying the pattern too. ☺️☺️❤️
I would love to learn how to make your hexagon flowers as a blanket ❣️
Thst is a beautiful wrap!
Hello from south India, I think everything about your podcast is wonderful, your beautiful crochet work, the garden outside, oh,just about everything! ❤

Beautiful as always. 🌸

Those pot holders are the cutest. Reminds me of the decorative plates my aunts used to have in the kitchen
Love seeing your daughters crochet and creations.

Loved the pride for your daughter!

I love your version of the Polston Wrap. It would be a wonderful gift. I would wear it everywhere. I hope you found a caring home for it.

7 motifs in a circle, with a lacy border would make a nice bed topper.

Thanks so much! ❤️
Lovely episode, as always. I would use the Polesden wrap in my decor because it came out so beautifully. Somewhere I could look at it - as a valance, table runner, laying across a dresser top.
That Polesden Wrap would make a beautiful blanket with a few more repeats.

Your work is so beautiful and inspiring! And I think your daughter has definitely caught the crochet bug for sure…her work is just as beautiful!😊
I just bought the Painted Anemones pattern and would love the potholder pattern. Greetings from cold, snowy Indiana.
Ahh thank you so much, I hope you enjoy it! Oh well at least the snow is pretty I hope, it’s just miserable rain here. ❤️
Your so good with colour - your Cath Kidson inspired colourway is so beautiful!! Any chance of sharing which colours you used? I'd love to make some
How exciting that your daughter is crocheting.

Love that fox especially, ( first thing i thought was if he was orange / tan colour...it is Basil Brush!)
I do hope you had a lovely birthday last month and are keeping well!
Blessings from Aus.✨
I hope that you publish the pot holder pattern. I really would like to make some in those happy colors! 🥰
Ahh that’s good! 👍. Yes it’s nice to mix it up sometimes isn’t it? ❤️
They are absolutely beautiful. I can picture a tablecloth or runner to bring spring and summer into the house. Or even some placemats or coasters.
Ooooo, I love the kath Kidston colors with the hexagons! The blue border is gorgeous. PLEASE put the yarn colors & brand! Quickly!
Also it’s so lovely that your daughter is now crocheting too!
She is very talented just like her Mother☺️
I am very interested in your pattern for the painted anemone Doilies and potholders they are beautiful!
Love that plushy. Thank you for sharing.
Thanks so much. ❤️
Then you could do a crochet-along : )
And list both colorways for people to choose from.
🤔😄xx
Thanks so much! Yes I can’t believe how much she has taken to it this time. I didn’t have this kind of staying power at her age, I’m so impressed! ❤️
She’s very talented just like her mommy
I have done the Alice Caroline quilt and felt like you did and powered through the sewing together in a few days of almost constant sewing over Christmas! And now I think I'm going to send it to a long-arm quilter to quilt. I kind of love the idea of hand-quilting it and every stitch being hand done, but at the same time I've never hand quilted and I'm terrified of ruining what must be hundreds of hours of hard work.
I am so in love your little dolly! Can u share what colors you used? I have bought your pattern! 🧶❤️
Your latest finished knitted project, could you use it as a bed runner? It looks quite big for a shawl or scarf.
The painted anemones would look great as a tablecloth and then put some clear glas or plastic over the top so they won't stain.
Please could you tell us what the sweater is that you’re wearing……..is it a Felix? I love it…..so pretty on you.
❤️❤️❤️
Hi, I am in love with the Cath Kidston colors. Can you please tell me the colors and where can I get the pattern for them. Thank you
Thanks so much! Check out the link under the video, you’ll find everything there. ☺️❤️

Thank you very much. Have a beautiful day !
In Southern Louisiana, USA. It's a hot summer here
The wolf doll looks like Violets grey hound Mable. I learned to crochet when I was a kid then taught myself to knit 50 yrs later. She has done a super job i would say she is hooked ….pun intended
