    Horrido! Excellent presentation and collection of G33/40's. I've been collecting Gebirgsjäger militaria for 40+ years. An interesting former Czech rifle pressed into German service. I'm not a big weapon collector, but I do have a nice G33/40, as well as a 98k. From most of my research and wartime photographic evidence, it seems that the 4. Gebirgsdivision was the major recipient of the G33/40 during the war.

    Gents, the 33/40 & K98s rifles did not have bayonets numbered to match (but the Port. contracted 98s did have matched bayos).
    The “dot” bayonets I believe were for the G.24(t), not the 33/40.

    Since I don't think he mentioned this in the video, these were made in Czechoslovakia after the German annexation by CZUB, which today is part of the Colt CZ Group.

    have the czech Vz.33 rifles ever been put into german service at all? do you know of any Vz.33s with G.33/40 stocks put on them?

    Why protective metal plate on the left side of the buttstock and not also on the right side ?

    • @Heeresbergfuhrer
      @Heeresbergfuhrer 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      The protective metal plate on the buttstock is to protect the wood from the metal cleats on the sides of the Gebirgsjäger mountain boots when standing at attention with the G33/40 on the right side of the Jäger.

    They're a small ring diameter like a 96 Mauser with the overall length of a 98 action. So a Kar 98 stock wouldn't work on the G 33/40.

    Funny how Americans can pronounce Jägermeister but not gebirgsjäger
