  • This one is a long one folks, I decided to just jump in with both feet and finish it up, so I can start with a new project on Friday. Overall I'd say this was fun, but far more challenging than I thought it would be, I am very happy with the result, I must say.
    I've been seeing these little diorama type projects come up on my amazon suggestions for a bit, I decided to spend a little bit and see how they go together. This is the first one of these that I've done, but they seem to be very similar to a lot of the other projects I've been doing as far as assembly goes.
    This particular scene reminds me of platform 9 3/4 from the Harry Potter books.

    Thank you… Glad it wasn’t just me that struggled with the roof!!

      The roof on that one is the worst, I’ve tried to block it out. 😂

    Zero chance I would’ve gotten through that build without you! Cheers!

      That's great, I'm glad it helped! Be sure to check out the Rolife Magic House book nook if you liked this one, it's my personal favorite of the Rolife sets.

    Just completed this project with your help for the electrical and some of the the last finishing stages. Thanks for making the video for those, like me, that need an extra visual :)

    Thank you so much for posting these videos!! I bought the exact same one on Etsy or eBay and it came in Chinese instructions. Hahah let’s say this would have been a lifetime to build with our you. First time ever doing this and looks so amazing on my book shelf. Plus it was nice to know where you were frustrated so was I!! Again 😊

    Thanks for your detailed videos! SO helpful when I get stuck in spots to see how someone else did it. I found you when I did a search for this Time Travel model and got stuck putting those wooden end pieces on the roof... turned out I was trying to put them in the wrong place! Will be watching more of your videos for tips and also for ideas which models I might want to do in future! What has been your favourite model to build so far?

      Glad I could help! I like different models for different reasons, I liked the Magic House book nook the best for final results, I just really liked the final result (Diagon Alley); I was very pleasantly surprised by how easily the Notre Dame went together and how nicely it turned out, I generally just like most of the marble runs because I like useless machines that don't really do anything but make noise and move stuff around. Overall I've been pretty lucky in that I've only had a couple of duds that didn't thrill me.

    Hi! I am about to finish this project and while going through the remaining parts I found G13 (it's like a little ruler). I've read the instructions again and again and I still can't find where it belongs :( I was wondering if you could have any idea. Thanks for showing the process btw!

      I think that was actually a ruler for you to measure with, probably how long to make the wires hanging down from the ceiling, or if there were some other more precise pieces in that set, it has been a while, but sometime Rolife includes little tools like that.

    Boy, did I struggle with the roof. My sausage fingers have got thicker! And one of the wires was a wee bit short. Had to gut off 1/2 cm of the back end of the roof and slide it back to accommodate.

      It is definitely a test of patience sometimes, I've found it really does come down to knowing when to sit it down and take a break. I've also had to do a lot of modifying on these sets in one way or another, sometimes it's just easier to make up your own plan than follow theirs.

    At 39:42 is that over head tressle supposed to be diagonal

    • @Dbuilderguy
      @Dbuilderguy  ปีที่แล้ว

      I didn't get a good camera angle on that, the back wall is the very diagonal, the trestle is only slightly diagonal, I just placed it in the slots on the top of the support walls.
