Superbly interwoven cross-cutting. Love the ominous atmosphere and sudden burst of violence, sound-effects are perfectly placed too. Magnum Force has to be the best photographed film of the series. Frank Stanley did a tremendous job with the sun-drenched grey and blue tones. Beautiful edit.
Felt so sorry for Charlie McCoy. The pressure of the job got to him and nearly drove him insane. Harry was correct in his assessment of his mental condition, but was incorrect in his committing the murders. He seemed to be performing his job adequately despite his problems. And he ends up getting murdered in the end.
@zerokomma ... nice comments, although I think that Bruce Surtees' dark tones (emphasis on black, red, and gray) and stark composition in the original "Dirty Harry" (Don Siegel, 1971) and then his shadowy noir photography on "Sudden Impact" (Clint Eastwood, 1983) could be considered the best. Still, in "Magnum Force" (Ted Post, 1973), Stanley does a fine job of using a primarily outdoor, daytime, sun-filled milieu to nonetheless suggest bleakness, nihilism, and deathly pale.
Unless there is a solid seal between the cylinder and the barrel no. Otherwise there's a tiny gap, very few revolvers exist where they can effectively use a silencer.
Your friend has good taste in handguns, The Colt Python is known as one of the most accurate revolvers ever made. With .357 Magnum rounds it can take out criminals effectively up to 100 yards. The Ruger Sp-101 on the other hand is a compact version of the excellent Ruger GP-100. It is very tough and dependable (just like other Ruger wheelguns) I'd like to see either of those revolvers jam or malfunction like semi auto's commonly do! ^_^
I love this movie ! Voir Clint Eastwood et David Soul dans le même film. Un épisode de Starsky et Hutch parlait déjà de flics prônant la justice expéditive, le fait d'avoir choisi David Soul dans le casting serait-il un clin d'oeil à cet épisode ?
See Clint Eastwood and David Soul in the same movie. An episode of Starsky and Hutch already spoke of cops advocating expeditious justice, the fact of having chosen David Soul in the cast would it be a nod to this episode? (Google Translate)
Très beau épisode de la justice expéditive avec Paul Michael Glaser qui reprenait le rôle autrefois tenu par David Soul " Hutch " . David Soul récemment décédé . Je pleure sa mort .
no, but it doesn't matter. The vigilante cops look so cool with their .357 Magnums. a real damn shame that police today abandoned revolvers (power/accuracy) in favor of semi-auto pistols (capacity/firing speed)
Schifrin's scores were great. Eastwood Had it when he chose him. Right on the pulse of the shot being filmed, every time. A class act for backdrop.

You should check out his “Scorpios theme” video, gives me chills every time
Love seeing all the old footage of the port. Most of it is long gone by now.

Fantastic! I was eleven.
Lalo Schifrin is Proper Ace man !!👌💯👍😜
格好良い❗(映画として観る分には、ですけど😅) 『ダーティーハリー』シリーズの中では、2作目であるこの『Magnum Force』が一番好きなので、とてもハッピーです😻

Wait a second.. silencers don't work on revolvers, do they? :P
Unless its an M1895 revolver, no.

It's only a movie, it's only a movie...
Its called a “ suppressor” no such word as a silencer in that terminology towards a firearm learn proper English .
@@illostr8 Says the guy who puts two spaces between words.
This was so dark and creepy but I like it
1:20 Silencer on a revolver?

Sanfransico crimes and angry cop villains from 73. Wow 👌
The colt python was the weapon of choice for Hutch in Starsky and Hutch also.
David Soul R.I.P !!!!! 1943 2024 .

Kinda wonder if his performance helped influence the T1000 actor.
Today? It's been like that for the past 30 years or so.
“ I’m afraid you’ve misjudged me “……
I guess in Magnam Force they worked on revolurs❤
Vernacular??? Is that when a dude gets his junk "fixed"???
Great revisit of your debut vid Thomas! (Mine too) love all the new cuts 2:30-3:00, need to revisit mine as well. Marvellous Stuff!
Got him good
Silencer on a revolver 😂
Not really familiar with guns. But, why wouldn't a suppressor work on a revolver?
@@thomasgreen1557 a huge amount of sound escapes between the cylinder and the barrel - no point in having a silencer
Silencer works on Semi auto pistol
1:20 a silencer on a revolver.............hahahahahah
Magnum 357 is a top gun on 44
"SFPD" glory, glory, glory all times!!!
The thing l cant understand is why sweet was sacraficed it doesnt seem right having your own men done in and charley as well they were the good guys
I'm with them.Full scale.
That's what I figured. "The Outfit" has a few different scenes with silencers on revolvers. :( Overall a good movie, though.
1:57..
Suppressor on a revolver....hahahahaha!
Imagine what they could do to solve the homeless problem in S.F. (Relax snowflakes, it's a joke. You know what that is dontcha?)
What the fuk was that all about.
To showcase the leader of the vigilante cops set to a musical cue from the film.
