I always promote middle of the road engine--"less is more" is very true, you get decent speed, decent mileage, same body no matter which engine, nice interior, for this old guy, not much of a downside--and insurance rates that are not so bad. AND, thank you for mentioning interior noise, on long trips, 4 hours or more, it really matters--young guy too; sometimes you want to chill and talk to the person in the car with you, maybe listen to some music. I'm glad you brought that up, many young people act like all anyone want is balls out, all the time.

@@norwegianblue2017 well there’s already been plenty of instrument testing performed by CarAndDriver and MotorTrend…. The 230i is quicker. Also BMW is ranked 3rd in reliability in consumer reports, mostly thanks to BMW b48/58 engines. BMW engines have closed deck designs and forged internals so they are ideal tuning platforms and are reliable as hell because of it. The Camaros transmission is not as responsive as BMWs ZF which is already widely accepted as being the best automotive by the majority of automotive outlets. You can’t really compare them, the Camaro is just older. Hopefully Chevy gives them a refresh to keep them relevant like Ford is doing with the Mustang.
