My worst Ramen ever was in 2011. A sushi bar in my little town started serving "authentic" ramen. Being the resident anime nerd / Japan fan, I convinced all my friends to go. (6 peeps including me) 22$ per bowl for instant noodles in regular chicken stock and overcooked/boiled chicken breast slices. No oil, no tare, no toppings. I had talked it up so much. I was so embarrassed. I paid for the whole meal and every suggestion from then on was pizza 😣

Bad fried rice does exist. There is a place near where I live which has fried rice that is absolutely terrible and adding some styrofoam would help improve the flavour and texture...
I'm ok with them...within reason...that is not it...plus i can't have but a fee drops of soy sauce due to the salt. Do this does less than zero for me.
Worst fried rice I've ever had was at a Panda Express in a mall in Eugene, OR. Everything was dry like it was under a heat lamp all day and the fried rice tasted like cigarettes.
Trust me, bad fried rice exists. Went to a "hawaiian" place that clearly used fresh hot rice to make their fried rice and it was just an oily mess and completely disgusting.
