They are by far in the upper echelon of hip hop and this piece you did coming from a young buck perspective is VERY WELL put together bro. Keep doing your thang

Man! I was introduced to Ball & G by a white cat while I was in the Army stationed in Louisiana. Buddy used to drive a champagne colored Delta 88 on gold Daytons! He was a Texas Boy. I'mma a West Coast nigga. I'm from South Central, LA born and raised. So I was heavy on Dr. Dre's "The Chronic" that was released like 7 - 8 months before "Comin' Out Hard." So I wasn't really tryin' to hear shit else. But Ball & G caught my ear FaREAL FaREAL! I've been a fan ever since. I'm glad I found this. You're doing good work my guy. You earned my sub. Salute.

I'm born and raised in New Orleans. So, I was always looking for lesser known artists on the scene. I remember finding "Coming out Hard" in the record store. I grabbed it because they're from the south, and at that time, the south was just starting to make our mark in the hip hop game. From first listen, I was hooked. They had a fan. Before long, everyone was bumping that tape around the city. These guys are living legends for sure. They deserve more love than they've been getting.

I'm from west Tennessee and i was 28 when COMING OUT HARD came out and let me tell you that their music was heard throughout the country. I think that they should get a lifetime achievement award for the tremendous work that they put in throughout the years of being among the fore fronters of rap in Memphis, TN as well as the South. They brought a new sound and style of rap to the surface and their artistry earmarked their status as one of the most illest dual rap artist in hip hop history. Their work shouldn't go unnoticed. Big Ups to 8 Ball & MJG!

I was 16 when "Coming out hard" came out and I was gonna share the long story on first hearing it, but man I think it was the first Memphis album I heard where i felt proud, and I remember it just felt so Memphis more than any other Memphis rap album up to that time in my opinion. And when I first heard it we were riding through the gutters of Memphis, and it made it that much better. But I moved to Louisiana a couple of years later for school, and I brought that album with me and I got so much respect from the brothas from New Orleans, not because i was bumping it so much, but because they were already bumping it in New Orleans before I came down, and I just happened to be from Memphis and they found out, and they expressed the album as being a classic as well, but good documentary man. I learned a lot of information i didn't know.💯

I moved to Memphis in 1994. I preferred Ball and G over 3-6 at the time. I remember watching Yo! MTV Raps that showcased OutKast. At the end of the episode, the entire Dungeon Family was going nuts huddled up in a Cadillac listening to Ball’s verse from South Circle’s “Unsolved Mysteries”. Justifiably so. I’m glad these stories are coming out. It’s the same all over the world. East coast might have started hip hop but we didn’t own anything. Stop the narrative that we didn’t play out of town music because we definitely did and most of our aunts uncles and grandparents and cousins for that matter comes from the south for sure. Please continue to educate and show that we all play each other’s music.
The powers that be tricked y’all again.

Love this Dedication. I'm from St. Louis MO. My best friend had cousins from Memphis. We were like the first ones that were playing Comin' Out Hard in the hood. My friend's older brother had a gold Jetta and put tint letters on the back dashboard with Comin Out Hard on it. Everyone was like what are yall listening to? St. Louis loves 8 Ball & MJG. We rode to that tape all summer and year. The next Thanksgiving the Memphis cousins put us on Lyrics of a Pimp and On the Outside Lookin' In. Then it was over when Space Age Pimpin came out. Man, you have me reliving my childhood. We got a hold of Indo G and Lil Blunt. Tripe 6 came later on. This is probably the most underrated group ever. Especially MJG.

My man, I'm not from Memphis. I'm from Atlanta but surprisingly to me. I shopped at this record store back in the days called third world and I had the tape in about March of 93. Before it was released. I don't know how I got my hands-on it. But the people at store were very kind to me. And told me here's a new group. Get this tape and you will enjoy it. To my surprise, the guy must have been a real music buff. Because when I got the tape, I could not take it out of the tape deck for about 6 moss straight straight. I listen to this thing track for track. Not skipping a track, that's how Great, that music sound to me. I had never heard anything like that before in my life. This is something that anyone who loves music should listen to now asap.

The album, Comin’ Out Hard, had the streets of, Memphis, in a frenzy. Everywhere in the city where there was anyone interested in hip hop was playing that album. No radio play was needed. No hype necessary. It was banging out of the trunks of vehicles, out of the houses, on every corner of, Memphis. Real people, real street credibility. That type of love that highly commercialized artists can’t pay for.

This was beautifully done sir! 8 Ball and MJG inspired a kid coming from RVA to Nashville TN in 95. My whole production approach was developed there and I was listening them hard! They made me start playing keys and adding in real instruments over top of the samples and all! Came back from there and started cutting records!! And I was the first to bump them around my city!!!
