@@FuseguyisCool @gelatin3613 the E is actually one of the most useful and fastest lines in not just QBL, but the entire system LOL. The F can be the same, except in Brooklyn where it fails. If I were to choose what’s the worst on QBL, it has to be the R without any explanation. I’m sure anyone will agree.
They are testing out CBTC operation on Hillside, Queens Boulevard, and Culver for its eventual operation via Eighth Avenue, Fulton, the Liberty Avenue Elevated and the Rockaway lines.
What a downgrade those announcements are so slow and delayed on a busy corridor….. R160’s are much better since they have faster announcements, CBTC, digital advertising, etc….. Queens Blvd should stay 100% R160’s forever since they’ve proven incredibly reliable, and efficient on that corridor for the past 5 years.(Anyone who says otherwise is still mad about the 2019-2020 fleet swap between Coney Island and Jamaica.)
@@Phineascharles10 What a minute, the Jamaica Yard has over 1,200 R160 subway cars and yet Jamaica are going to even more with the R179s? Is the V Train coming back or something?
@@amazing50000 no someone said that however I do find it hard to believe though more transfers might be happening though cause currently there is a 10 car r179 at Jamaica yard oos
@clydepk3067 yup. A 10 car set, 3248-3252 and I'm unaware of the other 5, was transferred to Jamaica Yard on Wednesday I beleive. But we have yet to see it run. My guess is definitely Monday into sometime next week...
the R179 looks so much cleaner on the M line compared to the previous R160’s Ngl 💯🔥
@curiousobserver365-hg5dj it does but the announcements tho 😭
they made a huge mistake making such a spliced announcement
Nice to see something that isn't an R160 on QBL for the first time since the R46's left in 2020.
@@KingofGamingAndTrains456 Right, but the R160s operate better tbh
Oh the M had a glowup fr.
those slow announcements are killing it
@@YummyF0OD Indeed 😭
I think r179 might replace the R160 for the F and M.
This R179 looks squeaky clean on the M
GODLY M TRAIN FR BRO
Yall prolly only like the M now cause it has 179s 😂
m train is not godly even with new car assignment lol

the F is the worst out of all QBL

Since I go to college in Long Island, I haven’t kept up with MTA since the summer - wtf going on in NYC bro? 😭 I heard there’s an R179 F train too

@MTAEnthusiast2222 Yeah, facts. R160s on the Delta would look nice though 😂
so the r179 will be leaving the a/c lines?
@Rflv26 definitely not. The R179 10 car will run on the A and the C and J will definitely continue to use 8 car R179s.
Apparently there is a 10 car set being set to Jamaica. Imagine r179 F!!!!?
There's a lot of rumors that there gonna transfer the 10 car R179s to Jamaica yard and use them on the E F and R

Well it's more shiny than having R160

R179s had cbtc for a while now
CBTC has nothing to do with a trains announcements just fyi.
@rpm_asphalt9railfanner762 yes it is new but the R179s have had CBTC tech implemented in their cabs.
is this permanent?
Yes, the R211s are displacing the r179s on the A/C routes
