I'm disabled due to Multiple Sclerosis, and I get really horrible days with a lot of pain, and your videos seriously always make me feel a moment of happiness, with many laughs etc! (The quality is magnificent too) I initially came here with a fear of spiders a year ago, but not so much anymore ! I love how like he just eats and drinks and multi tasks in the videos like opening packages while letting the tarantulas mate it's much more personal then just some perfectly cut edited video it's much better because I watch the videos for him aswell as the tarantulas at this point 😂

I really wish I wasn't so scared to have them! I used to love spiders as a kid but in 2nd grade some one thought it would be hilarious to scare me and put a visiting tarantula in my desk. Long story short I got hairs and a bite bc I reached for pencil box and grabbed the spider. I won't kill any spiders but I still can't hold any kind of them to this day.

I dont keep tarantulas, and at the moment have no interest in keeping them, but your videos are so good and so informative and so entertaining that it's making me seriously reconsider.

I get my first one tomorrow. If you are in the US I recommend getting a beginner pack from Tanya at Fear Not Tarantulas. It comes with a sling, enclosure with substrate and foliage. Along with 2 weeks of feeders and a care guide. Plus they guarantee the sling to be alive on arrival and to survive 30 days. I got my GBB for like 104 shipped. It's really easy to get into the hobby and there are a lot more engaged members now who love helping newbies like us. It's made taking the plunge a lot easier and made me look at potentially getting a lot more. That said circle and learn as much as you need to before jumping in when you are ready. It took me like 3 years of wanting to get into the hobby before I bought my first T.

I love this channel. It’s helped dispel so many negative perceptions that I had regarding tarantulas. What never ceases to amaze me is the variety in personality. Some of these spiders are edgy but most of them are so lovely and curious creatures.
The cheesy lounge lizard seduction music was a nice touch! He really checked out the terrain and all the tunnel entrances before making his move, so he was able to make an amazingly fast getaway with no wrong turns. Fascinating to watch. He even did it all over again when your camera flopped the first time. Paul is smiling in Spider Valhalla.

If there is ever a tarantula simulator, there needs to be an achievement named "Paul's Blessing" for making an escape from a female's hide playing as a mature male if she grabs you.

@@devonmoon5016 Alot of the time one would have a soft small paint brush or straw handy just incase to have a little bit of control ready to try and prevent this happening. Happens though the female does get them and they dont make it.
@@devonmoon5016 There's one video where he does save the male with a straw. It was Paul's mating video I believe. It isn't something that you can really stop if she's intent on killing him though. Also sometimes the males are really stupid and even though they've been warned off by the females, they go back in for another round and end up being lunch. Edit: it was tweezers. I can't believe I'm actually getting excited about the idea of baby tarantulas, but here I am, cheering for a successful hatching. Spiders still scare the hell out of me, but as long as I can see them from behind the safety of a monitor, they don't bother me so much.

I have a suggestion for filming in these circumstances, why not get a ring light for your camera? I use it in macro photography, its basically a ring of leds that you screw on your lens so that the thing in front of the lens gets illuminated. The better ones let you adjust light strength etc. (also you can use those as a camera flash or just like a flash light). Make sure to check out how light their peak lighting is thou, there are many variants.
