Which thing do *you* think was weirdest, wildest, or most unexpected from CES 2024? NOTE: This is a re-upload from last week, sorry about that! I found out a few of my export settings were off (resolution and audio, specifically) on my laptop where I edited the video, so this upload should fix some of that. Unfortunately, TH-cam requires a complete re-upload if you want to change anything about the video :(
Please put [REUPLOAD] in the title like @SmithyScotland suggested in the other comment. Your viewers are not robots or AI. We are humans. We make mistakes. We forget things. I don't like being confused and thinking like wait this sounds like something I've watched before... I will still watch it if you say reupload in the title. No, a pinned comment is not good enough. Neither is the description. Please update the title of the video.
Don’t listen to this entitled guy. Sorry he is easily confused by TH-cam videos. You’re awesome man, keep up the good work! Thanks for providing great CES coverage.
Re: IR Camera.. I just bought one of the EmpireTech IPC-TPC124X-AI Thermal Cameras.. I plan to use it at my remote astronomy observatory for spotting clouds ( clouds are warmer than clear sky ). Tested it in my back yard in Vegas and had good results. It would definitely work for monitoring equipment. Thanks for the CES wrap up. :)
I'll reiterate my comment from the previous upload. I thought it was fitting the first thing dad said he loved involved something with a sophisticated antenna on it.
There are two kinds of engineers: The real ones with a master in engineering that are actual engineers. They design bridges and computers. Then there is the other kind of engineer that only requires you to be 21 years old, and nothing else. These engineers mostly monitor and service equipment. The skill and knowledge between these two kinds are huge, but both use the same title.
Yeah, I actually messed with that a bit-the problem is he had the handheld mic, and though I tried to get him to hold it down a little (so our levels would be similar), he was practically eating the mic (that's what they normally do for live interviews in radio at loud places, so can't blame him!). I ran the audio through iZotope to reduce some of the clipping, but the damage was done, as it's recorded in 24-bit and was clipping quite a bit. Our 'raw' levels are matched mostly, but since he has proximity effect from being close to the mic, there's only so much I could do without making it less intelligible. Next time, I'll just have him wear the mic clipped on :D
@@GeerlingEngineering you give a radio person a handheld mic or a mic on a arm they are gonna do what radio people do and eat their microphones, they can't help it 😅
@@Slushee Well... it wasn't terrible, per-se, but it was exported at 1080p 44.1 Khz audio which is what I used to upload a couple years ago. I haven't exported a video on that laptop in a loooong time. The annoying thing is if you play back on a 4K TV or on desktop with a nice screen, you get a lot lower bitrate (and audio is compressed a little more) if you upload at 1080p, than if you upload 4K (even if you upscale). Trying to weigh the pros and cons of re-uploading... it's probably just a personality quirk, but I don't want this video to be stuck at 1080p forever :)
"The theme this year is slap the word AI in front of everything and hope it sticks" I have this exact conversation with a friend about weekly. I also agree with your comment about there are plenty of things deep learning is actually useful for now. Not that you'd know, cause you have to wade through the (apparently literal) crap! Thank you for an interesting point of view and quick walkthrough of this year's CES.
We found one booth with NFT artwork on physical items (like backpacks and drinking flasks), but otherwise blockchain and 'crypto' were all but gone this year!
Circuitmess - Croatian guys at CES, as expected. But in Top 3, man, Albert and his team will be proud of it that you put their products for STEM at Top 3 on this CES. BTW, they are rocking in Croatia.
Check the pinned comment! Unfortunately there's no other way to mark it as such :( And if you mess with the notification settings, the video disappears from subscription feeds too. Unfortunately, there's no easy way to revise a video on TH-cam. I would've preferred to re-upload over the existing tracks but it's just not possible.
@@GeerlingEngineering can you please put reupload in the title? Major labels I think have the ability to revise videos but I doubt they will extend it to others anytime soon. A simple [REUPLOAD] at the end of the title will work. Thanks!
Have the decency? Bro, get over yourself. He re-uploaded because of export errors. Sorry you had to see his free entertainment that he provided to you twice…
@@DMSparky @etexas sounded quite respectful in the post, at least, and I have no problem with people asking (I knew some of the subscriber comments would be like this, reuploads are always a bit annoying... I know because I follow a subscription feed pretty religiously, RSS ftw!). I won't add it on the title, though, because doing so would help the 5-6k subscribers who saw the video twice, but would harm the video's ability to get any exposure _outside_ the channel's core audience. Another annoying trait of TH-cam's algorithm. I really wish all creators would be allowed to replace a track, not just big hand-selected channels :(
