You are probably talking about scripts for autmatic bhops right? No I did not use those, it's the scriptless category and there you use your mousewheen for bhops For speedruns we inject a mod tho but that is only for the Timer, Speedometer and demo recording ingame.

It's OpenGL not Software renderer, what you mean is a texture filter we use for the test chamber skip lineup in HL1. You can switch in on/off with bind but I leave it on cause I got used to it and like it anyway

this is a trick known as a jump bug
Jumping and uncrouching at the same frame on a specific fps value will negate fall damage
