    The figure shown is a portable seat subjected to a load P = 2100 kN and is braced by a cable FG. Coefficient of friction at D and E is 0.20.
    Given:
    H1 = 0.5m x1 = 0.60m
    H2 = 0.25m x2 = 0.45m
    H3 = 0.25m x3 = 0.45m
    1. Determine the reaction at C (1400 kN)
    2. Determine the tensile force in cable FG (1540 kN); and
    3. Determine the reaction at D (713.86 kN)

    Upward po ata ang direction ng Force Cv kasi mag resist sya. And then ang Force FG is to the left. Makukuha po yung 1540 Kn hehe.

      Hmmm, then how about po kaya yung Cv na makukuha mo sa member AC? If upward po ang Cv sa member DC, then magiging downward ang Cv sa member AC. So, hindi na niya ireresist yung 2100 kN. And based din sa question No. 1, tama na 1400 kN ang Cv, and directed Upward sa member AC. Pagpunta sa member DC, magiging downward siya, under yun sa Newton's Law of Motion, action and reaction.

    nung niconsider niyo po yung whole structure bakit hindi po kasama yung vertical force NC

      hinde po kasama yung whole structure sa NC kasi mai tension sa FG, kapag walang tension kasama nayan

    What if po yung fbd at ABGE yung ginamit sa number 2 same padin po ba yung tension ng cable FG?

    Hindi po ba dapat yung horizontal distance ng point D to point C is 0.45m x 2 = 0.90m? (sa FBD ng DFBC)

      Yun din napansin ko. Bakit 0.45 yung distance from D to Cv

    Good day sir, ma tanong lang po, for this question po ba, kapag mag sosolve ka ng internal forces, need mo ba talagang i coconsider yung mga reaction ng bawat support present, tama po? Yung nag try po akong mag solve niyan, specifically yung tension sa force, medyo ma liit po yung na kuha kong sagot compare sa choices, at first akala ko mali yung pag solve ko nung reaction sa both lower supports, then nung napa nood ko po yung video niyo, na realize ko na yung structure pala itself is consist of multiple supports. Tama po ba?

      Hmmm, una po, need niyo malaman ang difference between support and connection, and also members.
      1. Support - support reactions
      2. Connections - connection reactions, nirereciprocate natin ang direction/rotation ng reactions dito sa kada member.
      3. Member (Cable, rod, steel, etc.) - internal forces (Tensile/Compression).
      Mapapalitaw mo ang internal force kapag cinut mo yung member, then need mo pumili ng FBD kung saan included ang internal force na yun. Not necessarily na whole structure.
