I bought a different Seiko with the same movement. The second hand was totally misaligned. My watchmaker calibrate the second hand perfectly for 15 Euro 🤗
Not sure you can observe that from those camera angles. 5:44 looks spot on

The difference from Casio is that Casio's second hand will hit the indices.
If Seiko can line up the second hand with the minute marks, this would have been great.
for real. my casio Oceanus was only slightly more and every second hits the marker just like a $2k GS. i dont get it. intentionally keeping that one detail out of reach of normal Seikos to maintain the value prop of GS??

I'm glad someone finally reviewed this piece. I've been waiting months for this, great video. I really like the looks of it, this is sort of a reissue of the vintage Seiko Type II quartz models. So it's true Seiko design. I'm really sad to read the bad reputation of this watch, only because the seconds hand, people forgetting that even most Tissot doesn't have perfectly alligned second hand, all of the quartz watches I own, one of them swiss, have misaligned second hand. Except for the second hand Seiko finally made something great for it's price. Thinking about getting one, but in different color.
I’m not a fan of the lines on the dial, but beyond that, I think this is a real find for $200

I have bought one and I just love it! So nice from every angle.
I bought a blue dial one for 167 USD a few weeks ago because I liked the looks of it. I've been enjoying it as a vintage watch (quartz, smaller scale, design) with modern materials (sapphire crystal, solid bracelet links). I suppose the lower the cost to acquire, the better it feels.
This Seiko splits the difference between the two PRX sizes nicely. Seems like a good baseline watch. Not too splashy but reliable with nice enough looks.
Also been lucky as the movement within has better seconds hand alignment than the example filmed here and seems to have only lost 1 second over 2 to 3 weeks.

Lovely watch. They really hit the mark with the simple dial and good looking bracelet. Also a good choice to go with Sapphire in a 'budget' watch for a change instead of the usual hardlex. If this was a solar quartz I probably would have bought this one right away.
Seiko uses sapphire in their quartz lines.
Stunning, and the hands missing the markers is an easy fix...may be pocking one of these up in the near future..PRX has nothingnto worry about but the watch shoild certainly be a consideration.😊 pop this on the flat link seiko bracelet and you have an absolute winner. great video and great watch...
What is the easy fix for the hands missing the markers? It seems to miss by varying degrees at different points in its sweep..

I'll keep my casio edifice, the design is great for the price, it has a solar movement and it doesn't have the alignment problem with the second hand

Have you seen the new colors coming to that Edifice line? it's getting a green, blue and tiffany dial option. BTW, the Edifice can be fitted with a 35mm PRX bracelet and then it becomes a PRX killer by itself.
DAMN! the Tiffany one is a must have! :D They are really milking the cow with these colors.
@@BraveBeaters the Tiffany looks amazing but will probably age tok quickly. My eyes are set on the metallic blue. I already have the black one on a modified bracelet and was planning on getting the white one before I saw the new colors.
As much as I like mechanical watches, I keep going back to Edifice for ultimate bang per buck
Would love to see this design with an automatic movement at around 300-400€. Then I'd definitely buy it.

OK, now tell me why my 100 USD Timex Weekender Chronograph has spot on second hands aligned with the indexes and this SEIKO does not have that....
If it was automatic I'd get it immediately, finally a good sizing.
For once Seiko actually released a sub 40 mm watch. I like the dimensions of this one
Finally saw this watch in person today. Love the white dial variant. But didn’t end up getting it because next to a PRX, this just looks plain and a little boring. It is well finished, and surprisingly slime and comfortable. But I wish the bracelet has a noticeable taper like on the PRX.

The markers are very clean; wish the second hand could hit the mark. How about just removing the second hand? It would look dressier and not annoying as the hand clicks by.

Owning the Edifice and been excited to see some new color ways getting released I feel like Seiko is missing out with this release and jumps on the 'hype train' of integrated sports watches a good bit too late. Especially given that it actually misses every single minute mark and looks even more catastrophic when it comes to the main indices (no matter how nicely those are done) I'd prefer the Casio every time. More appealing design, better price for the given quality.

1:37 I always ask myself: why is the seconds hand always off by few degrees and never hits exactly the middle of the time indicator?
To me this is super annoying that it is never in line with the indicators 😅 also happens with other watches.
Is it by purpose? Is it due to budget constraints? Is it better in the luxury watches segment?

That seconds hand is falling everywhere else but the second markers. It says a lot about that low quality movement inside.
I bought the blue face SUR555 super awesome
Stick an NH35 in it and charge an extra 25 quid. It looks like it actively trying to miss the marks with its second hand.
oh boy, here we go, I was keeping this watch on the hush hush, its out now, very very nice looking watch.
Looks better then the prx imo. Thinner and the dial is (coming) more alive. Only wished there was no gold in the bracelet on the dual tone one. Too much gold for me now so i will go for the silver/white one
It's looks like a very nicely finished watch, but I prefer the overall look of the PRX.
How do the F06.115 and the 6N52 compare? The ETA is a 3 jewel movement and the 6N52 is a no jewel movement that overall looks much less nicely made.
Does it matter in any way? They have similar battery life, and they are both essentially replaceable modules thather than servisable movements.
It would be nice to hear more about the pros and cons of the movements when comparing watches.
Hmm, an intriguing watch but I’m left feeling a little underwhelmed - the PRX has perfect proportions from a design perspective and is nigh impossible to beat - it’s the PRX for me all day long - there’s a reason why it’s so popular
Prx is better! Hands down! :)
This Seiko has three things going on for it: Great looking dial, amazing finishing and price point. Too many things against it though: integrated bracelet looks bad and doesn't fit the style of this watch. Regular lugs would have been so much better. Second hand alignment: second hand not hitting the minute marks (offset and should be a tad longer). I don't get Seikos. They always tend to have some great elements but ALWAYS fall short when it comes to wrapping up the package.
the prx is too big and ugly. THe shape is very werid compared to this

I don't know if it's just me, but I can't stand the seconds hand not aligning with any markers! Specially the 12 o'clock marker. At @1:35 it absolutely skips the marker!

Damnit Seiko sure know how to steal the show, it's hard to move on from this brand collection. Should I buy this?? PRX powermatic is on my wrist btw but the quarzt is tempting and now this piece is around the corner.
Before the PRX hype, Seiko has made several Seiko 5s in the past with integrates bracelet. This newest model looks the best I think.

Yes the price in europe is indeed pretty spicy. All I can find is 330eu. Maybe some Amazon options of 300eu but that's it. I doubt you find this for 200 dollar anywhere?

What do you think about Festina F20034/2? It seems a similar concept to Tissot PRX at half the price, for the quartz version. I've only seen videos of it, but I've been very impressed by the look of it, especialy the quality of the bracelet.
For 200$ the specs certainly punch above their weight but something just feels off about it. Maybe its the horizontal lines on the dial. Or the odd bracelet. Quartz hands not hitting the markers always make me cringe. I want to like it but it just seems to fall a bit flat for me.
Also can we all just get on board with AR coating for all watches? 2023 and i can’t imagine it costs more than a few cents to add.
As a complete aside, might I suggest a review of the marathon steel navigator.
If this didn't have the date window I'd buy ten.
Seiko: we will copy the dial of prx and bracelet of Czapek and will totally ruin it with our quality control 😂😂

I prefer the Citizen Tsuyosa to all of these... Similar price but the automatic movement gives it the edge.

If they used a VH-series movement instead, which i think would fit this level of quanrtz watch, then the apparent second hand alignment issue wouldnt be a thing either.
What about Citizen Tsuyosa, I would put it side by side with PRX regarding the price and quality and if we include the automatic mechanism of Citizen I would say It is killer of them all. Just my thoughts :) What's yours?

Mine is hitting all of the markers. Also my old seiko arctura. My prx is hitting the half of it. I've seen a lot of pictures/video's of casio quartz watches missing the markers

2:20 Casio S108D is best watch in history for price under 300$, price is 120$, yes we all pay more 150-170$ for better bracelet but, wow it have 7.8 mm thickness and look so good like its from space
As I look at this review, the more you show the Casio Edifice, the more I tend on wanting THAT one instead of the Seiko 🤷🏼♂

That flawless dial, those clean indices, that sloppy secondhand what a shame.

Its a seiko so the bezel will be misaligned and the seconds hand wont meet the indices.

For those that can't tell the seconds hand isn't actually extremely misaligned it's a result of the camera-angles and made worse because it's such a thin second hand. Wait for a straight on shot and you'll see.
And if it REALLY bothers you then just buy an automatic you filthy heathen.
I'd normally agree with your take as I'm not a nitpicker (especially at this price point) but this is particularly terrible mate
