- As we’re fast approaching June, when two new Watches & Wonders 2024 releases become available to purchase, hear from Grand Seiko’s President Mr Akio Naito as he talks through 3 of the Grand Seiko pieces first introduced in Geneva at Watches & Wonders.
From the Evolution 9, Masterpiece, and Sport collections, these pieces feature the brand’s signature of innovation - in terms of watchmaking development, design and aesthetics.
Introducing the new 9SA4 Hi-Beat movement - the first Grand Seiko manual-winding hi-beat movement in over 50 years.
Following the success of the 2022 Kodo I ‘Twilight,’ the Kodo II launches, resembling ‘Daybreak.’
In celebration of the 20th anniversary of the 9R Spring Drive, the ‘Morning Glow Tokyo Lion’ features a new patented dial coating technique.

I'm the proud owner of an SBGE255 spring drive timepiece. I cherish looking at the sweeping second hand, gliding along the perfect dial that only Grand Seiko can produce.
Best brand in the world in many ways. But I hope both Seiko and Grand Seiko step up their bracelet game a notch or two

Only thing GS needs to start doing more is bring the watch size down and thickness, and specifically the crystal size... The SBGH205 case is perfect example of case and crystal size ratio...

Grand Seiko should consider offering strap options in shorter lengths and design a mechanism where the strap tail tucks under rather than protruding outside. Furthermore, they should implement a micro-adjustment feature for their steel bracelets and ensure a tapered design from the lug width to the clasp down to 16mm.
Just to let you know Grand Seiko President Mr Akio Naito acknowledged customer demand for the micro-adjustment design element which is being worked on. We'll let you know when watches incorporating this are released - but as you know, creating new designs can take a little time.

I have been a fan of Seiko and Grand Seiko for a long time, owning several timepieces such as the SKX007, SBDX001, SBDX017, SLA019, SBGM235, SBGW231, SBGA465, and SBGA427. However, I have sold all of them except for the SLGH005 and SLGA021, which I believe represent the pinnacle of Grand Seiko's movement technology. I adore both of my Grand Seiko watches, especially the 40mm size which fits perfectly on my wrist. Currently, I keep them on the steel bracelet, but I also dream of putting them on an alligator strap. Unfortunately, my wrist is not very big, and the strap options for Grand Seiko watches have a very long tail which looks unsightly. I hope that in the future Grand Seiko will improve their strap options by making a shorter tail or else makes it underneath the buckle or clasp, enhancing the wearer's appearance with a neater and more elegant look.Thank you once again for acknowledging my feedback, and I look forward to supporting Grand Seiko in their future models.
Stop making the nicest dials in manual wind! I would buy the sbw299 in auto spring drive and adjustable fold over clasp in one second!

I have a Seiko Sport Mechanical watch bought almost 2 months ago. The only problem is that it runs 2 minutes faster, and most of the mechanical watches have these issues.

Not complaining abt clasps n bracelets cos I think its a little overly dramatized. Own n love the SD Midnight Blue, u guys doing great on all departments except the sports models, it's way too classy 😂, how about some out of the box rugged designs 😅

It looks like it belongs on a 2000 Era Tag Heuer, not a Rolex or AP, it's one of reason I didn't purchase

Seiko has turned into a fancy watch brand over time. Overly expensive watches for accuracy ? Meanwhile Citizen and Casio bringing out gems for the common people. A kinetic, mecha quartz Seiko with these features is still the best option. Don't turn into a fashion brand please. Remain true to passion.
This is the high end fashion brand of Seiko, it hasn’t turned into anything. They still sell nice quartz watches
GS is beautiful but I dislike the hour hand on snowflake and lake suwa model. Looks like it’s been abruptly cut off at the end. Oh well!

@@GrandSeikoUK Lol. Dude, standard $200 Seikos have micro-adjust capabilities. We’re not asking g for Rolex/Tudor level “on the fly adjustments” (which are amazing). But just to ability to resize your bracelet with a toothpick.

Grand Seiko needs to have a smaller men's watch 37mm case diameter and just 8 - 9mm thin (not 13-14 mm thick).

Just wondered if you've been to any meet venues?
Fix your 9AS5 movement before talking about anything. My SLGH017 was running 20 seconds a day and it was serviced by grand Seiko last Nov 2023. Now it’s still running at 8-10seconds fast a day. Not going to buy another GS until they fix it
As I mentioned in another comment, my GS Tentagraph highbeat runs fast, outside of specification.
But the Spring Drive movements are bang on accurate... I'd buy another Spring Drive, but also will not buy another highbeat.

Despite the advantages of the SBGC253watch, I'm not satisfied with it and have sold it...
1. Pushers wobble in the housing (too much play)
2. The claps are not solid enough
3. Spring Drive indicator is only "printed" and not 3D-engraved
4. Price of 13.400€ too expensive compared to other cheaper models that using the same spring drive caliber.
Don’t get me wrong, I'm a fan of Japanese craftsmanship and Grand Seiko, but the above-mentioned issues are not in line with self-imposed quality standards.

Own Slgh005 and I love it but 9SA5 movement gains +10 sec every day which is frustrating .. can we really call it a revolutionary movement.?
Dual Impulse escapement is nothing if it can’t keep the time properly .. 🙏
In UK 🇬🇧 I own a GS SLGC001 "Tentagraph" with 9SC5 movement. This also runs faster outside of specification.
Alongside my Rolex 126711 with 3285 movement, Omega Speedmaster 9904 movement, and even my Hanhart 417ES with a Sellita SW 510 M movement... the Tentagraph is the worst timepiece I have for accuracy.
However... my GS Snowflake Spring Drive is the most accurate timepiece in my collection... alongside my MRG G-Shocks
So... Japanese win, but highbeat Tentagraph not so much...
Can I just add... but I still love my Tentagraph and no way will I sell it... it's a lovely watch very special to me. ❤❤❤

in my opinion the everyday Seikos for the average Joe is far more important than the marvelous pieces from Grand Seiko. The only thing for Europeans, the watches should get wider around 42mm-44mm mesured without crown!

The only thing I don't like about Grand Seiko is the awful Gothic font used for the logo. To me it looks so out of place for a Japanese watch.

In digital smart age, these over-engineered mechanical things are outdated
They going mainstream which means they lose their authenticity. Your Marketing has it completely wrong. Stay hidden Seiko stay original.
