  • My name is marina ramos I was born in Germany I’m 63 I have one daughter one handsome grandson and beautiful granddaughter on the way I worked in the hospitality field from 1994 to 2014 until I left my job to take care of my mother who passed away in October 2014.
At the age of 57 March 1, 2015 I suffered a basal ganglia hemorrhage which left my left side weak. I could not walk ,dress myself and I was scared of falling and I cried alot.
This time was very emotional cause you go from being totally independent to learning to dress yourself and walk again it’s not a easy journey
After ICU I went to Rehalb
and I started Physical and occupational therapy. When I left there I went to a step down program and then out patient thearpy several times.
My left hand and arm is close to normal but still heavy and painful at times
My left leg feels heavy at times and also can feel numb
My left side is not totally normal yet but I have accepted that it’s normal to me and I continue to work on it
I love to cook and bake and spend time with my grandson. I love the beach, watching the Pittsburg Steelers and drag racing and I love uplifting people and meeting people
I still walk with a walker and my goal is to let the walker go when I am ready
