I first visited Bude, by train, in January 1957, to visit my parents, who had retired to Bude in June 1955. There is a bronze plaque fitted just above water level on the large rock outcrop alongside the seaward wall of the pool , where wide concrete steps lead down into the pool. It commemorates my sister, Pat Walker, who swam regularly in that pool until shortly before her death, in November 2017 at age 90. I am now 98.

Have been coming here here for many years. It's where we had some of our best holidays ever. Was here last April with my youngest son and daughter. Lost my wife the September before si thought it would be good to have a family break and to reminisce of years gone by. A few weepy moments but enjoyed ourselves. Beautiful place to holiday.

I moved to Bude in 2000 from Bournemouth and still here, the surrounding area is great for Mountainbiking which i do alot of.
Early Spring and autumn is peacful, winter it's dead and Summer the population is 10 fold it goes mad in the Summer, but i wouldn't want to live anywhere else.

Glorious! Yet again the lighting and colours hitting the sea and beach are absolutely stunning. So relaxing. I want to be there NOW!
Went to Bude in 2021 and had a good ol’ time there. It’s nice to see it without the funfair that was there during the summer. Lowers the tone, in my opinion!😶
I nearly snorted my tea out of my nostrils when you mentioned the water looking like Willy Wonka’s chocolate river! Hilarious!😂

Wow. Watching you walk this unique little town is really lovely. The sunsets from on high have been delightful. The color of the stone in Dude is quite different from other towns you have traveled to. Hence the color of the water.
The river water looks like hot chocolate with a little cream in it. Lol lol
Also think your camera has gone a great job capturing the different levels of the clouds and of course the sunset.
Well done Sir. Thanks the this walk!👍❤️

I live just outside Bude. Beach looks different in the summer, full of nappies, plastic bags, dog poo bags floating about, broken body boards, broken glass, syringes and gas bottles in the dunes, bottles of discarded piss in the rockpools, cider cans in all the bushes, you know who you are some of you live here your all welcome as most of the locals have left due to the poverty lack of industry and holiday homes ;).

Went there as a kid in the mid 90's on a school trip. This is the place we stayed in 20:23 the big white building, still looks like a youth adventure place by the looks of it. Someone in my class broke his leg the first day we were down there, not doing any of the activities but by falling down a flight of stairs.

yahoonewsmar 31: Hundreds of homes were left without power by Storm Mathis on Friday, as 93mph winds battered the south of the country.
Up to 700 properties in Cornwall were left with no electricity for a period on Friday morning, with homes in Bude, St Ives, Redruth and Hayle all affected by power cuts.
The Met Office said wind speeds from the storm had reached speeds of almost 80mph between Thursday and Friday.
And voluntary organisation the National Coastwatch Institution said it had recorded a wind speed of 93mph at Gwennap Head, near Penzance, Cornwall.
The storm brought travel chaos, with Sandbanks chain ferry from Poole to Studland in Dorset suspended on Friday morning because of the windy weather, and fallen trees blocking roads.

Your filming was great. Hearing the sea was wonderful but we were not nearly so impressed with Bude as we have been with the other beach communities we’ve seen thus far. The beach is nice as are the pastel colored houses, but even with the geological formation the town sort of left us flat. It was more modern than we appreciate. But we really enjoy your vlogs! Loved seeing that red pup!

I live in bude and it’s an absolute shit hole. Drug use and anti social behaviour amongst young people in the area is so noticeable because it’s such a small town. The restaurants charge tourists more then the locals during holiday season. 90% thrive off tourism yet treat holiday makers like crap they even put a sign up once telling tourists to go home. I mean we all hate holiday makers taking over our towns and villages during holiday season but the Cornish people are vile towards them.
