NYC Bus | 2012-13 New Flyer Xcelsior XD60 Review

  • These are the very first XD60s from MaBSTOA ever reviewed by nobody but me. They were brought here since late 2012 to help Bronx get chances of starting their Xcelsior era, and to replace their D60HFs.
    I never focused on these buses until 2016, finding the cuomo livery XD60s that time online. By 2019, I first found these buses in person on the B38, it's first day being articulated service via Jay Street and around Fulton Mall. And they roll on this street without any mechanical risks or body risks. It is a tightest corridor I see, and I was a bit concerned. It should be a full bus lane on both sides, just to related to the M14 +SBS bus lane for the L train project. At least I still see them through late 2019, and I should ride more of them. And I was excited to see the B15 get conversed into artics for the summertime of 2020, and the B1(B3 was my mistake) to get artics by April 1st. And Ulmer Park Depot still has those XD60s. By because of the season of COVID-19 today, they have to postpone these plans. One climax, Gun Hill Depot was exposed for having #4799 catching fire and this unit retired.
    I shout-out to the MTA and New Flyer Industries for making a seductive crowding hold equipments come to our NYC residents, outdating the aging times of the D60HFs since '96.

    I heard on the news, Casey Stengel only has 11 of these left, and around 46 at both Grand Avenue and Ulmer Park. The Q12 started using 2016-17 XD60s, which were unwrapped. I believe Brooklyn should be a fully Xcelsior borough, and Staten Island should be a fully LFS depot. It doesn’t make sense having X3-45s at Ulmer Park and D4500CTs at Queens Village.

    I believe it doesn’t make sense when these run on the Q44-SBS, and I’ve seen videos of it.

    The NFL XD-60 4700 are the first Generation of XD-60 of MTA and the MTA should've them to MTA Bus instead of Grand ave and Casey Stangle . For the Q-10 - Q-7 Q-53 Laguardia Depot Q-70 /Q-53 as test for 5300-5400 NFL XD-60 Next Generation . But they good Buses at end of day. But I understand that it was necessary for MTA to bring them Brooklyn and Queens to relief overcrowding to Q-12 and The B-38 and that's a awesome XD-60 Bus review !!!

    Man. Why My Mta bus videos are never be reviewed in this channel like I record B38 #4771 with my job coach & I thought is gonna be in the review turns out is not. I feel so left out 😞

    Good Review Cedric, I Only Rode These Buses One Time That Is On The B38 On The Parade Of Train Day So Far, It Was A Good Ride. Soon I Will Ride More Of Them Soon On The B1 (Ulmer Park Depot), Q12 (Casey Stengel Depot) & B38 Again (Grand Av Depot) So Yeah, Good Review Once Again

    At 10:48 you said this bus came from kingsbridge bus depot but it came from Gun hill bus depot. Kingsbridge bus depot has 4710-4753 and Gun hill had 4754-4799

    Very interesting to review 2012-2013 New Flyer XD60. They are my favorite bus model. I'm glad that my childhood bus home route which is B38 has New Flyer XD60.

    In my opinion The MTA's choice for Casey Stengel Depot to get these for the Q12 is amazing since now we might see several of these original XD60's operate on the Q44 SBS which is pretty rare nowadays.

      Vulnerable Toyota the XD60 wasn’t the only articulated bus to be first unfortunately. D60HF from 1996 was the first successful buses after the former articulated buses we’re actually floundered. It started in 1979.

      Elegant Toyota Driver 4710-4899 needs to be replaced, and a 2015-2017 needs to take over New York city transit just like the Tuskegee articulated bus. I said Tuskegee because the rest are SBS livery scheme. It’s fully blue instead of an SPS a livery scheme.

    Nice review except for a few things. B3 wasn't planned for articulation it was the B1 which is going to happen soon and also 4710-4784 are 2012 models and 4785-4799 are 2013 models. Also 4799 was prematurely retired due to a fire at Gun Hill depot.

    The Nx-60 first Generation was supposed to be number 1000's .But unfortunately the MTA had changed their minds about that. I am just glad that Brooklyn Division had gotten more Articulated Buses outside of Flatbush depot. And I heard that B-15 And B-82 and B-1 would've ben Artic's but we all know what happened.
