The finale of the Evil Dead remake gets me so hyped. So brutal and fun.
I loved the evil dead remake i didn’t get to see the original until after but the remake holds a special place in my heart
Seeing it in a packed theater with friends who were looking through their fingers and screaming made it special to me too, what a great film
Damn Ryan, really unexpected to see A Nightmare on Elm Street remake as your number 1 after what you said about it in the retrospective but hey, its about time the goat of horror got the respect it deserves

The Blob(1988) and The Thing(1982) will always be my favorite
Left out remakes: My Bloody Valentine, Black Christmas, Wax Works, and Fright Night.
I will never forgive The Blob for having it's first victim being a kitten drinking milk.
How do you not have the best remake of all time, Invasion of the Body Snatchers? Also would be cool to see Hammer Dracula, Hills Have Eyes, and Maniac as those are also really good.
Any Nosferatu movie including the pseudo documentary one. I think each brings somthing good to the table. Hoping the new one is good. Also will be watching the OG with my three year old as his first horror movie this year. For his first Halloween I dressed as count Orlock so I think it’s fitting.
I love the horror videos, I hope you do something for Halloween this year like last year, I know you said they didn’t do well last year but I loved them.

To be fair with IT I think it was remade because the OG was so beloved and less so as a new book adaptation. It does have thing that a line more with the book, but the definitely stuck with the clown more like the OG did, which the book does much less
Maybe this has become less of a hot take over the years, but I genuinely enjoy The Wolfman (2010). The CGI has aged but damn it the practical effects are great! The unrated version is the best way to see them in it's full glory.
I don’t have a favorite horror remake movie because it’s usually the modern ones that throw me off from how authentic the 1970s/1980s era was.
I was gonna be shocked if The Thing wasnt youre number 1. Its such a damn good film. Easily a top 10 movie for me. Probably top 3 horror movies of all time. Alongside only alien and the original halloween
Seeing IT(2017) in theaters when it came out was a different experience.
No one would go with me so I saw it by myself it was great
Hills Have Eyes remake deserved top spot
Hot take: The Texas Chainsaw Massacre remake is better than the original.
The original does, at times, feels like a 30 minute script that was padded to feature length. But it's not as severe as Dark Star.

Yea I loved the *IT* remake, I absolutely loved the original, me & all my friends rewatched that so many times when we were young. But I was so worried about the remake because they’ve done such a terrible job on every single remake over the last 10 years, so I was very happy with the movies and thought the actor did a wonderful job as Pennywise, and I loved how he looked.
I’d definitely throw Suspiria 2019 on here and (a bit of a hot take) but Hellraiser 2022. You should check em out if you haven’t seen em.
Honestly I don't get why people like the TCM remake. It is pretty bad, especially compared to the original masterpiece. Honestly the F13 and Halloween remakes are way better. It is a poor man's Friday the 13th with Leatherface, and it's so boring.

I wish the Evil Dead remake didn't suck ash. I was watching the deadite look into the mirror and then cut its face and I thought "do these filmmakers know what they're doing?"
They're possessed dead beings so having the deadites do means they're tormenting the actual audience. That's 1 breaking the fourth wall and 2 dumb.
The prologue was not good and the "Abomination" ending was worse. The Necronomicon is "bound in human flesh and inked in human blood" and wrapped in shiny barbed wire because the remake is about PAIN for no reason. Woman's hand gets possessed and she immediately cuts it off with an electric knife and immediately dies from... not copying Evil Dead 2? It's sure as hell not blood loss.
It didn't need Ash, it needed to be an Evil Dead movie.
Nicolas Cage is the worst actor in Hollywood, so bad, soooooooooooo bad.
I would have to disagree, he has some pretty good films such as Snake Eyes, 8mm, and he was good in Longlegs.
