Cocoa Florida, Top Terrifying Terrors | Unveiling The Worst Cities In Florida Part 3

  • Venturing into the heart of Florida, I recently embarked on a compelling exploration of Cocoa Florida, a city that has garnered quite a reputation, earning the title of one of the most challenging places to live in the Sunshine State for the year 2022. 🏚️ Multiple sources and surveys have consistently cited Cocoa as the worst city in Florida, leaving me with an insatiable curiosity to delve deeper into the reasons behind this unfortunate label. 🕵️‍♂️🌆
As I stepped into Cocoa, I couldn't help but feel a mix of anticipation and eagerness to understand the dynamics that contribute to its challenging living conditions. The statistics might paint a grim picture, but I was determined to go beyond the numbers and explore the stories and nuances that define this city.
    🏡 Unraveling the Narrative:
From neighborhood walkabouts to conversations with residents, my vlog aims to unravel the narrative of Cocoa, shedding light on the factors that have led to its classification as one of the worst cities. We'll explore the city's history, socio-economic factors, and community dynamics, seeking to understand the complex tapestry that shapes its identity.
    🌍 Contextualizing the Rankings:
While statistics have their place, they often lack the context that is crucial for a comprehensive understanding. I'll dive into the various surveys and assessments that have labeled Cocoa unfavorably, questioning the methodologies and examining whether there's more to the story than meets the eye.
    🔍 Spotlight on Challenges:
Cocoa, like any other city, faces its set of challenges. From economic struggles to social issues, I'll shine a spotlight on the aspects that contribute to the perception of Cocoa as a difficult place to reside. Additionally, I'll explore any community initiatives or local efforts aimed at addressing these challenges and fostering positive change.
    🌟 Balancing Perspectives:
It's essential to balance the narrative by acknowledging both the difficulties and the unique aspects that make Cocoa a resilient community. I'll showcase moments of strength, resilience, and the beauty that can be found even in the midst of challenges.
Join me on this in-depth journey as we peel back the layers of Cocoa, Florida, in an attempt to understand the city beyond its "worst" label. Together, we'll uncover the stories that make Cocoa a complex and multifaceted community. 🎥🏞️ #CocoaCityExploration #FloridaWorstCities #BehindTheStatistics #CommunityStories 🌴💬

I've been living here in Cocoa for 40+ years. It has deteriorated through the years. We are actually called the arm pit of Brevard County. But there is also really decent areas like Cocoa Village and the riverside. It's literally only less than a 5 minute drive from that trailer park you were driving through, not way out.

I believe why so many of us like to watch the ghetto areas is that we are all tired of seeing how the other half live that is mostly out of reach for most of us, that and the fact that a lot more of us can relate to that situation.

This is because our code enforcement stays on top of the homeowners and landlords. They often drive through the neighborhoods within the city limits at least once per week, sending letters out for homeowners and landlords to make improvements to their properties. It's strictly enforced in most areas.

I used to deliver pizzas in all those areas. Even got robbed at gunpoint at 800 N Fiske, Crestview Apts. I really enjoyed a drive through my old stomping grounds. You should go back to and take some additional video of some of those places at night, like Lake View on a Friday or Saturday night, around 11pm. They were having street parties every weekend. A little sketch for a pizza dude, but I never had a bad experience out there. Great video!

Whoever lived in Cocoa between 99 and 2003 do you remember the elementary schools used to have the cotton candy the moon bounds the Titanic inflatable slide our street from the RV we used to have outdoor movie night with the projector and we used to have our arcade games on the porch so when kids in the neighborhood wanted to have fun and their parents wanted them to be safe they would come over to our house sometimes this is one of the kids that would help out the community in Cocoa and if you do remember our town was different very quiet very surreal with a lot of history and a lot of movies that were filmed in our little town and a lot of people from the cities like St Pete Miami some parts of Orlando have moved over here and a lot of people from up north we didn't see what I was little we didn't start seeing drugs really until that I know of around the 98 and after the twin towers fell our town It changed because before it was always clean It was quiet our neighbors got along with each other there wasn't really a lot of fighting we did have to deal with a lot of street racing down certain streets that were half dead end roads near the college in our town because we're my old house is that's in Cocoa mustang flipped in our yard and our road had old military housing that was between the '50s and '60s that is still there and we knew we could walk from one part of our town to the other side and pretty much walk all the way into rockledge and our town did have a lot of fixing up old classic cars we did have a '50s diner there is a hot dog place that I believe that is still there that is on Dixie boulevard when you go up to the train tracks and it's on your left we used to fill up our truck on vegetable oil back in the day and our truck helped out for pulling vehicles when we got hit by hurricane Ivan and hurricane Jean our little town has always tried to help other people out very quiet but our town was always cool and I wish I was still there because it was a lot better than the town in Florida that I am in right now because my home town of Cocoa it is safer than this town that I'm in right now

I live in coco off clear lake road , and it's not that bad here especially compared to other cities like Orlando , Tampa , Miami etc . I'm originally from D.C. /Richmond VA coco is pretty timid in comparison. Off fiske and Dixon shit may go down , and out in west cocoa. Theres alot of drug addicts and homeless people as well . If you mind your own business, stay in your lane , don't get involved with certain shit you'll be fine . I'm a white dude and I've been all over cocoa and never had any issues for real . I'm not saying shit doesn't go down here because it does , and I heard back in the eighties and nineties it was active but compared to other cities in Florida I feel like it's pretty timid here .

I don't agree with you. Crimes happen because there are people who don't want to do anything for themselves. They are just waiting for other people to do it for them. If they don't get what they want, they go and commit crimes because it is the easy way for them to get the money. Poor people need to stop giving excuses, and they need to understand the life cycle. They need to educate themselves and work smart and hard. Most of those people were raised by dysfunctional parents with no role model parents at home. Poor people always are providing excuses for the condition that they are living but the don't do anything to improve their self. Those Poor children Most injoy the USA Army and they can learn a lot and go to college for free but instead they prefer to be involved in criminal games. There is always a way to improve ourselves. Just make the first move.

"it's quite obvious that you're not from here"
Cocoa has a large diverse population, white and Hispanic.
We have one street that separates Black and white, that's Fiske Blvd.
There's a lot of good and bad like any other city.
People in cocoa are willing to help anyone ❤

My family is the the GLASCO'S! I resided in Cocoa for several years, gaining an in-depth understanding of the area. Cocoa is indeed a diverse community. However, the city itself seems to have seen limited progress over the past few decades. Unfortunately, opportunities for good jobs, places to shop and entertainment are still lacking in Cocoa. According to the most recent ACS, the racial composition of Cocoa was: White: 57.23%, Black or African American: 29.42%, Two or more races: 8.46%, Other race: 2.97%, Asian: 1.64%, Native American: 0.21%, Native Hawaiian or Pacific Islander: 0.07%. Thanks for watching.

very misleading, you drove thru the shittiest pasts of cocoa, the areas most run down. such a small part of the city thats been ruined by drugs and crime, not the better parts of the city. shame if you claim to be a local.....

Cocoa was my home from birth to 1975 and the 60s and 70s in Cocoa were fantastic. But I do much more prefer Melbourne.
