    I was so scared to try the nuvaring and even gave my boyfriend a preface of what to do if I went crazy on it lol. I watched a ton of vids and stumbled across yours and decided to schedule a gyno appt to get it prescribed. I’m 5 days in (not that long lol) but I completely know what you mean about having a more positive and not as hormonal attitude. I feel like before I was not the nicest and more of a pessimist about things. These last 5 days I’ve been overly happy (not a bad thing whatsoever lol) and so much more patient and nicer to people. It’s freaking me out but also making me grateful at the same time. Thanks for your videos! They really helped guide me in a good direction :)

    I’ve been on the Nuvaring since I was 16 and I’m 25 now and I’ve absolutely loved it. This was actually my first time using birth control so I can’t speak on how it compares to other forms. There was a time I went off of it for a while and was nervous my period would not go back to normal but it did! I was recently thinking about switching only cause AT TIMES it feels uncomfortable for my partner during sex, other times he cannot feel it all and forgets I have it in. To combat this I thought about switching until I finally started to utilize being able to take it out for AT MOST 3 hours should it get uncomfortable for him. We’ve been using this method for a few months WHEN NEEDED when he feels it is uncomfortable. Though we haven’t done it often I can say that this has worked out perfectly and still not pregnant so..... something’s working, right? I’m good with staying on it now and not thinking about switching. 😊

    • @pinkloading
      @pinkloading 4 ปีที่แล้ว +18

      Nicole Trejo I completely understand where you’re coming from but girl, don’t risk your health or anything because he feels uncomfortable. As women, we have to use Birth Control to prevent pregnancy and for other health benefits which is a lot (at times) on our bodies.. We’re literally risking our whole bodies (for them aka men, ourselves too) but still! You might want to change this good Birth Control Method for you and get something worse, just be mindful!😘

    Just an fyi: my gynecologist told me that those periods you’re having are not the periods you would normally get. They just get triggered by the lack of hormones and are called withdrawal bleeds. The hormones in the bc suppress ovulation and thicken the cervical mucus. So no, those periods are not natural haha Not saying that there’s anything wrong with still wanting to have your period. But you don’t have a normal cycle and that’s why you also don’t need to have those periods in between. Of course talk to you ob/gyn before doing anything, but it’s also an option to not have periods!

      yes!! my gyno told me the same thing! i like to skip my "periods" because i just don't like having them😂 but sometimes i like to have them. my gyno also told me that birth control tricks your body into thinking it's pregnant because it's no longer ovulating like it should so hence that you don't have to have a "period" while on birth control.

  • @26fitch

    I was on the pill for a little over three years. WORST decision I've ever made. The high estrogen levels were a trigger for migraines and they were almost unbearable. My right boob had also been hurting for a little over 3 months but I just blamed it on my period. I went to my annual gynecologist appt. and she felt a lump and sent me to get an ultrasound. Turns out my pills I had been on caused 2 fibroadenomas (noncancerous tumors) in my right boob. All bc I decided to be on the pill. Tried the nuva ring (low estrogen birth control), and I loved it. I'm not on it anymore because of the estrogen trigger but I recommend experimenting and doing research with every birth control Just remember birth control is not natural for our bodies (a lot of people have great experiences don't get me wrong) but I wish someone would've talked me through pros and cons.

    Please be carful with Nuvaring! I had mine in for 5 entire years, I loved this thing so much, I was like the poster child for recommending it to my friends I thought this thing was a miracle, but now as of last week my entire perception of the NuvaRing has changed, I nearly lost my life because of this device, The nuvaring caused my kidney to become extremely infected and because of insertion into the body it introduced antibiotic resistant bacteria into my body, The first kidney infection was about four years ago and I ignored the fact that it could’ve been a NuvaRing until it happened again last week and I went into septic shock and was unresponsive. I’m alive to tell the story obviously, but others who suffered suffocating from pulmonary embolisms did not, Please please I beg of you to be aware of the dangers of NuvaRing, I never thought that this would happen to me.

    I’m a strong believer in not suffering through your period if it’s terrible. I used to have terrible cramps, depression, crying all the time, dizziness, I would feel like I was either going to die or kill myself. I used continuous pills for several years and eventually I grew out of the bad stuff. But I’m also a strong believer in not doing birth control methods you don’t believe in. If using continuous birth control and not getting your period scares you, you shouldn’t do it. I personally love having my period now that it’s not terrible anymore. I use it as an excuse to eat junk food and be lazy and just take care of myself.

    I am currently 3 years into a 5 year IUD(Kyleena). I really like it and even told my gyno that in two years I want to get another one! I love not having by to remember to take it. BUT recently my dermatologist told me the IUD could be a reason my acne is so bad since progestin causes acne. And acne is one of my biggest insecurities and I also know that my IUD doesn’t do a great job of protecting against ovarian cysts, which I’m prone to... but gosh I hate the pill, so I’m glad I remembered the nuvaring exists! One thing:
    I never had bad cramps at all before getting the Nuvaring. The Nuvaring made my first few periods after being on it TERRIBLE. I couldn’t even get out of bed. I have read a lot about the Nuvaring and haven’t read anything about it but over the course of the year it’s gotten a lot better. I can actually do things and get out of bed. But yeah I was just wondering if anyone else has had this issue with terrible cramps after the first month of being on the Nuvaring while on the first period?

      Sadie Pierce I’m not currently using the Nuvaring, but I am on the pill and i think that it might just be your body getting used to the hormones. I’ve switched used a couple of different pill brands and every time i’ve switched my periods in the first few months were always brutal. It might just be your body adjusting to it all but i think if you’ve been on for a little over a year and are still experiencing bad periods, you should mention it to your health provider.

    I was on the pill earlier in my life for 9 years and it always made me very sick and dry heaving with nausea. At that time it’s the only thing I trusted as a naive teen even though other options were available. I went on Nuva ring and never had any problems like that. I did a 13 years break of no birth control while I tried to conceive, then I had no choice but to get on it when I hit perimenopause at 37/37 yr old and became very super nauseous almost consistently and riddled with anxiety during my ovulation, and suddenly had severe pms. Cbd is what helped me through it a lot and the Nuva ring which I will probably be on til I am 50, but predict I will be in full and complete menopause by 47.

    Im really considering to replace the nexplanon with nuva ring too. But please girls who have nuva rings my worry is intercourse! I dont want it to be uncomfortable for either party but i just can't deal with the spotting and uncontrollable emotions no more from the implant. I just want to know if it feels different and or is it or will it be uncomfortable for my partner?

      I used Nuva ring a few years back. I stopped because of the discharge but other than that it was great for me! I just took it out during sex. My partner said he could feel it if I left it in but it wasn’t uncomfortable.

    @Sarah-ej7kd 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    I did some research on it and there is no medical reason for a period (unless you are actively trying to get pregnant). I even talked to my gyno about it after reading and he said it's perfectly safe to skip every period! There is no need for your body to have one on birth control because the hormones from it make your vaginal walls thinner therefore if you always skip your period there will be nothing for it to shed. It is just a myth that you need to bleed. There are no long term side effects of doing this and you'll still be able to have kids when you want to, so why put yourself through having one!!

    • @427skies
      @427skies 4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      I dunno, that doesn't sound right at all. There is obviously a reason why women have periods. Just because "man" says it is okay...doesn't make it necessarily so.

Which was also another bad experience. Let’s hope this goes well. I’m just worried about the weight gain part my niece’s warned me about. Awful. So you actually can skip it without any real complications. I used to when i was on the pill but then it would make the next month like annoying and spotting so it wasn’t worth it for me personally.

      I think it depends on your body. I know a girl who used Mirena for years and she loved it. I know another girl who had the crazy symptoms listed above so I think it's a 50/50 chance of how your individual body will react to it. I had the Nexplanon implant and it pinched a nerve in my arm. Freaked me out!

    • @samanthascarcella526
      @samanthascarcella526 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I love it in the sense that I don’t have to think about it. I would constantly forget to take my pill, whether at the same time or at all. But after 3 years my acne got worse and it hasn’t prevented ovarian cysts from forming(I’m prone to them, it didn’t cause them) so I will be switching.
      BUT I also have friends who haven’t had any acne issues or any issues at all and plan to have an IUD as long as they plan to use birth control. And other than acne and my own cyst issues, I haven’t had a problem. For the first two years I hardly had a period which I had no problem with, though my doctor told me that is rare. I had no weight issues, no mood issues caused by it, no hair fall, etc. It also has not shifted out of place. And when it comes to effectiveness for preventing pregnancy, it really is one of the most effective options since there is no room for user error(like forgetting to take a pill). If it wasn’t for acne I would keep it to be honest, I really like having it.
