Is there a video about applying key oil and taking care of cork? I prefer to moisturise my corks (not the neck one but the others at the keys) with paraffin wax. It helps them keep out water, and elongates the life of them. Also oiling the key mechanisms is not a hard maneuver - I think players should be able to do it on their own. The part about cleaning the neck cork is a bit strange. My teacher proposed the usage of "hirschtalg" // deer tallow to condition the cork of the neck. I apply it every time I use the instrument. It keeps it in a nice condition, keeps moisture out while keeping it "rubbery". I do not generally use cork grease due to this. What is the opinion on this method?
Excellent info, thanks for sharing!
