One of the best reviews for RG470 (370) that I have seen. Very informative and objective on all relevant aspects. I bought this guitar as my 2nd Ibanez for good quality for the price, maple neck and stunning looks, and i like it very much. Thank you for this review.

I'M very upset they changed to a wizard lll neckbon these guitars ! Unless you have an older one!!
I just got rid off a beautiful Rg470mbAfm becuase I had no idea that Ibanez switched out the necks a few years ago . I have really small hands and the Wizard ll was perfect for me . Just a heads up for everyone !!
The current specs for the newer, lower end Rg Ibbys state they come with wizard lll .

Love mine. Had it since 97. Replaced the Trem humbucker with a SD Screaming Demon. Sounded best through an Ultra-Plus head and Marshall cabinet. I miss that stack

Looking at the photos of the bridge, I can see that it is plainly out of alignment....I hope you had it set up correctly!

would you say this is the best ibanez guitar for $500?
I bought a set of Dimarzio Evoution HSH Pickups. The Humbuckers fit. But the middle single coil would not. I had to leave the quantum middle pickup in the guitar.
Call me crazy, say I have bad taste, but I think the stock pickups sound great. Could be better, but still great.
MrPackersGaming most people really like the Quantum pickups. Anyone saying they're bad is in the minority.

Thank You Mr. Chad Morris for your review on the Ibanez RG470AHM, I am getting this Guitar along with an ESP LTD-400M Mahogany 2 of my hopefully all time favorite Guitars I will use on stage with my Girlfriend who also plays Guitar over in the UK that I will hopefully be seeing in the next 5 - 7 months.

Nice review. My friend has one and he really likes it. He kept the humbuckers as he liked them but changed the single coil to a seymour duncan as he thought it was too quiet
I still play my first Ibanez. I bought a RG470 around 1993 - 1994. I do want to change the pickups out. It still has the original V7 (neck), S7 (single) and the V8 (bridge) pickups in it. As my music choices have changed then it just lacks the solid tone. The bridge pickup just sounds thin and weak when I play notes. If anyone has as any suggestions on pickups then please reply.

Thanks for the review. I'm pondering whether to buy one of these to supplant my Jackson Pro DK2QM. The Jackson has Seymour Duncans, a compound radius, and a good Floyd, but I'm not sure those 18th-24th frets are as accessible as they should be--and, honestly, I just want a change of pace (as though I don't have enough f***ing guitars already...). Anyway, good review. I appreciate the perspective.

Be careful when ordering . make sure you get a wizardll and not the wizard 3 they suck

Edit: Hmm, mine came with the Wizard III neck, according to the sales listing... bought in February of 2021. Makes me wonder what else is different. 🤔
I just got one of these today for a serious bargain. I'm loving it so far, I'm sure you know how much more beautiful the finish is in person. lol. One other thing, I thought you said it was a Wizard II neck. I read a few websites just before this video that said it was a Wizard III. Its a great neck either way. Love the tones you're getting out of this!

I also had to tighten the same spot, love the guitar however it’s never in tune
ive tuned mine like 6 times total probably the strings though
Sean Philliops I changed the strings but I can’t tune it without the bridge lifting up like crazy and guitar stores are closed I’m stuck lol
@@danielshastokas1787 you've gotta adjust the bridge after the string gauge. It's not that hard when you get used to it

I do not know which guitar to buy .I'm undecided between new indo model this one and old models RG 3xx/4xx/5xx MIJ in 90s ,2000s . What are the main differences between them? And which guitar do you think is better?

Are the mounting rings holding the pickups in place or are the adjustment screws deeper in the body? I would like to remove them if possible to fit a gk-3 between the bridge and bridge pickup

I wound up getting a RG470DX Black Mat finish called Black Planet finish.

I really wonder why this is the 370 in Europe, as well as the 350 here in Germany is the 450 in the US?
Think in the US they use a different trem?

I want to get this but I'm afraid of locking tremelo. And stringing would be pain but i love using trem on my fender but goes out of tune quick.
Your fender not double locking.
@@poisonvenom5695 no fender has vintage trem on it the 6 screw trem.
You can always lock the trem. I have it locked (razor blades) and then just take them out when I need to trem

@@kateonkeys1414 Well... I sold mine pretty quick. It was nice but you really want a proper Ibanez. I'd hold out for a premium. This represents the sweet spot between the super pricey Japanese stuff and the cheaper Korean stuff. I got a 1070pbz. Best made guitar I have including some custom shop and luthier built stuff. The fretwork on stainless steel frets is a work of art. If you put in a bit more cash and seek out a good used one you'll never want another Ibanez. Can swap out pups to taste later. The only reason I'd swap for a prestige is... for the prestige. It wouldn't be a better guitar.
The 470 is ace for the money but you'll still feel the itch to upgrade. A premium is all the Ibanez you could ever need.

Chris Colabella yeah so how much should I spend? and what guitar should I buy? I would like a tremolo bar, 24 frets and good sound. I like Tim Henson’s style if that helps! I’d like to spend less than $1000 but tell me what you think is best since I’m new to guitar but almost mastered piano 🤷♀️ and I’m going to spend thousands of hours learning guitar I can just tell 😂
@@kateonkeys1414 You've stumbled on the right person to ask: I've been playing 28 years, been in many bands, do some session work, tutor guitar, and also work as a luthier making custom guitars to order.
Let me ask you a few more questions. Does it have to be new or would you consider used? Do you want a Floyd Rose trem specifically or will just a strat trem do? What styles of music will you play on it? Is it more important to have something that's easy to get to sound good, or that you need to master? And finally (be honest here) how important is the brand cashe/name on the headstock?
Chris Colabella 1. I don’t mind buying used as long as long as it functions like new I don’t mind a small scratch since I am clumsy anyways 😂 prefer used since it would be cheaper
2. I prefer to have a tremolo bar or just some form of Tremolo pitch change I’m not to picky
3. I play everything but I tend to like technically difficult pieces like riffs I like Tim Henson polyphia g.o.a.t but I like a clean not muffled sound also video game music, Disney music and Pop are in my style
4.it should be easy to get the sound good and shout be very playable with 24+ frets
5. I’d like a reliable brand and inline head stock like the 1070 premium Ibanez
My question is why even create a guitar like this if you gotta do so much to it after the fact
